Hi, how far in advance have people been looking/ordering invitations?  Can anyone recomment any places that aren't ridiculously expensive? Thanks!

Our wedding is in October and I hope to order invitations in May/June. It's one of our next steps for the planning process.

TheAmericanWedding.com has nice invitation options at affordable prices, that aren't DIY. You could also get invitation kits at AC Moore using 20% coupons and printing them yourself.

I ended up finding a Groupon for Delphine Press for my invitations and save the dates.  I will say, we sent our invitations out late by accident, so definately work on them sooner rather than later!

We ordered in...October I think for our April wedding. Maybe a little later. We went with Designs by MK (link). She did a FANTASTIC job and was super affordable. We've had multiple people comment on how much they love our invites and how they're so different from any they'd ever seen. I'd highly recommend her.

I know I just posted this on another thread, but FI and I are probably ordering this weekend - Invitations by Dawn is having a semi-annual sale on everything, up to 30% off. I ordered a few samples from them in the fall and liked the quality.

Ours are being custom-made for our July 5 wedding. Our wording is due to the invitation vendor on 3/15. 

What do you consider ridiculously expensive? What do you consider reasonable? 

The woman who is doing ours is amazing: RSVP to Me in Allendale. She can make them in a range of prices based on your needs.

I have heard great things about RSVP to Me in Allendale and it's on my list to check out. Haven't decided on budget yet, but know we didn't want to spend a lot on something people throw out. Looking at all different options!

We got married in Oct 2012 and ordered our invites around June.  We went to Cherish the Moment in Morristown, NJ.  They were beautiful.
