Wedding Jewelry

My wedding is in 12 days and I have yet to get jewelry.  I've been looking but can't seem to find anything I like.  Any suggestions??

I didn't see anything I liked, so I didn't wear anything besides my rings and a brooch that was fastened to the sash on my dress :)

I definately don't want any of the gaudy stuff you find in most bridal shops.  Way too many rhinestones and round plastic balls painted too look like pearls.

What about something with small crystal?  I was in the same boat- I didn't like anything I saw and I'm not a fan of the fake diamond stuff.  So i ended up getting crystal earrings and bracelet.  It worked best with my dress and got it at a shop.

I bought earrings from Nordstrom (plus my something borrowed, which was a bracelet from my mom.)

I also hated the most "bridal shop" jewelry.

My earrings were from Macy's, necklace was from eBay and bracelet was from whiteaisle.com. So I'd just poke around in Macy's or another department store and see what you find.

Does a female relative or friend have some nice pieces you can borrow?

I'm hoping to wear my grandmother's pearls (something old), borrow FMIL's pearl earrings (something borrowed), and probably leave it at that and my rings. You don't have to buy something you don't like!

Ditto pp - borrowing stuff from a family member or friend?

I borrowed everything from my grandma and mom except my earrings. Maybe you can see if there's anything you can borrow?

Swarovski has some really beautiful crystal jewelry, did you look there?

I would look in places like Bloomingdale's, Macy's, L&T, etc. They seem to have nicer not so gawdy jewelry. Or if you can borrow something from a relative or a friend might be even better.

    Borrow if you can!

Or if you're willing to spend money, I can refer you to a great jeweler. He is where all of my wedding day jewelry came from, as well as pretty much all of my other jewelry.

Borrowing is a great option. My wedding is over 8 months away and I wasn't even thinking about jewerly when my dress ended up coming in super early. When I went to the salon to pay, I tried the dress on (loved it even more) and my mom had brought along her mother's necklace and that matched perfected.

I agree with PP's I have a small pair of crystal earrings, I'm borrowing a bracelet (only because I needed something borrowed) and I'm leaving it at my rings. I never wear jewelry so the gaudy stuff was unappealing to me too. Go to a department store, they all have costume jewelry

Thanks for the suggestions ladies.  I'll see if I can borrow something from my Grandma.  Nothing seems to go well with my dress.  If all else fails I'll try my luck at swarovski.

Do you have a pic of your dress you could share with us so we can make some better suggestions maybe?

How about wearing a locket?  You can keep a picture or even a  memento inside and engrave the back with your wedding date.  I found a great website that has a million lockets(and other jewelry too) www.heartsmith.com

Have you looked on etsy?  I agree with others, try department stores.  Also, Chelsea had a good suggestion... post a pic of your dress and we'll make some suggestions for you.  Finally, where are you located?  Perhaps we could also suggest a local place for you to check out.

Im getting married too in less than 2 weeks- was in same boat- I found that the brand NADRI is the prettiest- Lord and Taylor and Nordstrom carry them.  L and T you can use a coupon and do better.  Got a gorgeous antique looking bracelet and earrings.

FI and I are going to Jose Tejas and then the mall now, so I'll check out the department stores.

I second the Etsy option. They have so many great artists and jewelry designers! You can find something really unique and just tell them to ship it fast!
