shower on a sunday of saturday?

Hi everyone!  I have a shower date question... and I have to decide by today with my mom, bc she wants to book the venue today, and we're between April 10th, which is a sunday, and April 30th which is a saturday.  i prefer the later bc its late april and the weather will probs be better, but she prefers april 10th bc its before easter, palm sunday, mothers etc and may is just nutty ( i am in 2 other other weddings next summer besides my own, so i'm tryin to get my stuff planned in advance!)  i also prefer april 30th bc im not getting married until july, and i just think april 10th is too early!  BUT, is having a shower on a satuday weird? i've only been to sunday showers.  thanks for your help girls, i really appreciatei t!

I personally prefer Sunday showers... but that may be just me.
I always have so much going on Saturdays, and showers take up a good chunk of the day.
I agree with your mom about it being best before all the Easter holidays too.

I prefer Sunday showers. I feel like they're more relaxed and I agree about being before the holidays. I don't think you'll have a problem with weather in early April. I would however be sure to offer a vegetarian option for an entree as many strick Greek Orthodox and Catholics do not eat meat during lent.

I do prefer Sunday showers. However, I know with my own shower it will probably be on Saturday. The shower will take place in NJ and my friends and I live in DC. So it is easiest to have it on Saturday for traveling purposes. I don't want to have to make friends take off from work just for my shower. So I can see how some circumstances are better on Satuday.

I have been to showers on both days. Sundays tend to be better since a lot of people have things going on Saturday's. I agree that it may be better to do it before Easter and Mother's Day though.

I prefer Sunday even though my shower was on a Saturday. Mine was after Easter and a lot of people didn't come. I think it would be best to do it before.

All of the showers I have been to have been Saturday's, they were all fine.

Mine was on a Saturday, but mine wasn't a traditional shower.  I didn't open gifts, we had a DJ and a Casino type theme.  There was roulette tables, blackjack tables and slot machines.  Everyone just drank, ate, gambled and danced.  I don't know if I have a preference on the day as much as the time of it, I like the noon to 4 type showers this way if it is on a Saturday, I have time to get stuff done before I go out for the night and if it is on a Sunday, it doesn't end too late and I can unwind.

I prefer Sunday too, but it really isn't a big deal to go to a shower on a Saturday.  If I have to do that, I'll just make the most of Sunday  If you have good reasons to have it later, I wouldn't worry about it being a Saturday.  There's no such thing as a perfect day, and no matter what you'll have people who can't make it.

I think either would work.  My wedding was July 17 and we had my shower early like you...April 8.  We chose a Saturday because I'm a teacher and Sundays are my prep days.

I've been to showers on both Saturdays and Sundays.  If a lot of your guests are coming from out of town, I think it is more respectful to have them travel on a Saturday in my opinion.

P.S.  My shower was April 8 and the weather was beautiful (warm and sunny)!  Then again we had an amazing spring.

thanks everyone!!!! we went with the earlier date, april 10th! my mom's right, sunday was better and the earlier the better, i have a lot of weddings next summer besdies my own, so we'd rather get my date on the calandar away from the crazy summer. mom's are always right!!!  hah!
