process to become ordained in NJ

I really want my uncle to become ordained to perform our wedding ceremony. Does anyone know the correct process so everything is legal? Thank you!

I'm not really sure, but my friend became ordained through the universal life church online... I still have to call and make sure it it legal, but it seems like it is.

  • Does he want to become ordained?
  • He wants to be able to perform the ceremony legally. So its acknowledged by the state of NJ

<div>I see. I feel like I've heard of people doing it online. I'm sure it's not like a fully ordained minister kind of thing, but at least to the point where they can perform marriage/civil ceremonies.</div>
  • He can get ordained at the University Life Church for free. He fills out the information and they send him a certificate.

New Jersey is pretty good with this stuff. As long as you have a certificate, it is legal to perform the wedding.
