calligraphy

The invitation talk this morning reminded me I've been meaning to ask:

Did anyone use a local calligrapher for your invitations?  Or a non-local one?  I've seen the rec's in the bride bio, just wondered if anyone had anything else to add.

YES! I had a local calligrapher do my invites and she was sooooo reasonable. Her prices were amazing and the work was beautiful.  I even got her to create a caligraphy style for me mimicking the font we were using for a lot of stuff.

Her name is Leah, and here's her website: http://www.calligraphyandmore.com/
It was $1.50 per envelope set (both inner and outer included) which is such a great deal compared to most you'll find.  She was recommended to me by the place I ordered my invitations.

Hi! I used Carrie Shuping, in Raleigh, and she is fantastic. When I didn't have all the addresses together (ahem, due to FI, ahem) at the same time (I was short three) she kept a couple envelopes and when I had the addresses I just emailed her and she did them in an hour and didn't even charge me! I love her. She's affordable too (in the same range as Meredith's above, I used her $1.20 per envelope "fancy script.)

    Hope this helps!
