Kleinfelds question

For those of you who looked for dresses at Kleinfelds, I have a question.  I made an appointment for a day that according to their website is a sample sale day (not sure which designer) and appointments will be limited to 1 hr.  While going to the sample sale may be great, I am worried that it will be madness and I won't get the full "Kleinfeld's experience".  Based on your experiences, should I hold off and make an appointment on another day?

Last year I went with a friend for her dress to Kleinfelds during a sample sale day. It did not interfere with the experience at all. I have my Kleinfelds appointment tomorrow and cannot wait! hope you enjoy your appointment as well.

I went during a sample sale and wasn't rushed.  The consultant was a bit incompetant and I didn't have a good expeirience, but it wasn't crazy busy.

Sample sale isn't the giant sale in July.  The one in July is where you don't even get a consultant and things are madness.

I went for a sample sale in June and had a great time.  They brought me a good number of dresses, and let me go back and forth between two (changing each time) about three times (per dress!)  They'll let you know when you're getting close to the end of the hour, and usually just leave you to wrap up with their assistant if you do run a few minutes behind, while they go onto the next appointment.

I was there back in June for a Henry Roth trunk show.  I was actually happy that it worked out this way: I got to meet him and he was soooooo nice.  He even picked out a bunch of dresses that he said would look great on me, which was very cool and made me feel super special! I loved that part of the experience and feel it did not take away one bit from the overall experience.  They told me 1 hr max, but we were definitely in there longer. I had Audrey and ended up getting a Pnina, but regardless I was glad to have been able to meet an awesome designer like Henry Roth. (And I absolutely LOVVVVED Audrey!!)  Have fun and don't worry too much about time constraints - you can always make another appointment, right?  Just enjoy yourself!

    yes!
my daughter had her appointment on a sample sale day and did not receive the kind of service she had been looking forward to.  and it was a little difficult to try and get to try on the dress she had found in a magazine...however, she did try the dress on and it was perfect and all went well after.

i still think you're better setting up an appointment for a different date.

i have heard that sample sales arent really indicative of the kleinfeld's experience, as apparently the selling floor is an ABSOLUTE zoo.  The typical appointment takes 1.5 hours, but during a sample sale you only get an hour.

I went 2 weeks ago and ended up coming back to try a dress on again, but i requested a different consultant.  My first one was an older woman and i felt that she wasnt listening to me AT ALL.  When i went back the second time I requested someone young and more vibrant.  While i felt like a huge, complainy bitch for doing so, the girl taking my appointment told me that this is a very common request and said it happens all the time.

If you can, i would highly recommend asking for someone younger - my consultant was Jillian, and she was beyond amazing.  She really listened, helped, and most importantly, heard what i wanted and UNDERSTOOD what i wanted.

I dont know your timeline, but you should go during the week, as opposed to a weekend appt or a sample sale.
