Rehearsal Dinner

I'm newly engaged and I am in the beginning stages of planning.  We are getting married at Our Lady of Sorrows in South Orange and the reception is at Mayfair Farms on 9/10/11.  I am trying to find a nice restaurant in the that vincinity for a rehearsal dinner.  Any ideas?  Looking at about $50pp (including tax/tip) and I will have about 30 - 35 people.

    Cafe Arugula is in South Orange, not sure what their prices are for a banquet type dinner, but they are Zagat rated, I've been going there (on and off) for about 8 years and the food has always been very good...they are BYOB too! :)

    Just looked on their website - $28.95 per person (plus 18% Gratuity & 6% tax)
    Deposit of 20% is required

    We're getting married at Our Lady of Sorrows in South Orange also! (our reception is at The Manor) 

    My in-laws picked Giorgio's Ristorante. It's in South Orange. They liked the private room and space that they had there. It's also a BYOB, and my FMIL said they had a large menu to pick from. I think it's about $30-35 pp plus tax/ tip. They really liked the food there but FI and I haven't been yet. They also ate dinner at Cafe Arugula and liked the food they just liked the space and private room better at Giorgio's. We're having about 30 people as well.

    Thanks so much for the recommendations!  It's very helpful.  I am going to check both of them out.  My fiance is from that area and I am from Bergen County and we currently live in Hoboken so i'm not too familiar with the restaurants out that way.  We wanted something close to the church.

    We are working with Joanne and she has been great as well.  They are very accomodating and are total professionals.

    Ditto on Cafe Arugula. GREAT food, Totally worth looking into, but I'm not sure about price or if they have a private room.
