DJ Recommendations???

So we've picked a venue, photographer, and florist.... but now we need to pick a DJ.  I have absolutely no idea how to go about this!  Our reception will be in Watchung NJ so any suggestions are greatly appreciated (if you liked someone OR if you think we should stay away from someone else).  Is a $2,000 budget realistic??

    Bob Albrecht from Fantasy Productions

I paid about $1K for the most basic package. That didn't include lights, giveaways, a second DJ, etc.

We didn't pick our DJ yet but the ones I have been looking at are around $1,200 to $1,400. I think $2,000 is a little expensive for a DJ.

We used Premier Entertainment in East Rutherford, and had a great experience.  We probably paid around that for our DJ, but we had them play for the ceremony, reception and we got the plasma TVs, giveaways and photo montage...so we went all out.  They have other more basic packages that were much cheaper as well.   I would highly recommend them.

I am using Premier Entertainment and paying 3,500.  However, I did get a lot of extras such as a violinist during cocktail hour and a percussionist during the reception uplighting, and a monogram.
