Wedding Coordinator Expecations

Good morning!

I was wondering what you expect of your full coordinator?  For example, are they helping you with room blocks, negotiating your catering proposals, setting up vendor appointments, etc? Since I have never gotten married before or worked with a coordinator ( I am an event planner -- not weddings -- but I have pretty high expectations) I am unsure of what to expect.  I want to make sure everything is reasonable.

Your best bet would probably be to set up meetings with several different coordinators, and talk to them about what they do. Each coordinator will have different packages, and do different things. What you mention there is totally reasonable for a total-coordination package, but must coordinators will also have "weekend of" packages where you do all the planning, but they step in and handle things during the actually rehearsal, wedding, etc. (And usually start helping you several months before.)
