Unique Venue Ideas?!

My fiance and I are looking for some interesting wedding venue options and are having a tough time. We really don't want anything like a hotel ballroom, conference center, banquet hall, "wedding factory". The one place we saw that we loved was The Ryland Inn, but it has a minimum of 175ppl on a Saturday and our guest list is closer to 125.

Please let me know of any suggestions in the NJ/NY/PA region, we are option to offbeat ideas but love the country inn feel.

I'd prefer to stay around $150-185 a head, but would go up to around $200 depending what it included.

My wedding is at Valenzano Winery in South Jersey. My FI and I were looking for the same sort of venue as you. It has a beautiful stone bar and stone fire place, more rustic-feeling chandeliers than a typical ballroom, etc. The caterer I'm using is the Ultimate Caterer out of Marlboro and they're in your budget. There is no fee to use the space. 

The pictures on their website don't do it justices, IMO, it's worth seeing in person.

Either a winery or check out Bayonett Farm in Holmdel. They have barns that can be rented for the day.

I think it's expensive, but look at Skylands Manor at the NJ Botanical Gardens.

How about Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ?  The photos don't do it justice.  If you google wedding photos there, you'll find photographer's blogs with better pictures.

I actually just got information from them yesterday. I've been there for dinner before and think it would be pretty cool. Not sure if my fiance would think it's a bit too quirky though...

Bayonet Farms in Holmdel, NJ - Takes A LOT of planning since you have to bring everything in yourself. Caterer, tables, etc....You also need to obtain certain permits but the grounds and the red barn are BEAUTIFUL.

My friend is getting married at the aquarium next year. I know the area it's in is questionable but I looked at pics and it looked beautiful. It was certainly unique. I also know that many museums and botanical gardens are an option.

Windows on the Water at Frogbridge in Millstone Twp.  It's a gorgeous venue with both a tent and ballroom with tons of windows.  I'm getting married there in May.
