LOOKING FOR A BARN OR BARN-LIKE AREA TO GET MARRIED :)

Hi I just got engaged yesterday and live in Cary, NC..I like the idea of a barn wedding, within 45min of Raleigh/Cary, but the only place I could find was Ferrington Farm in Pittsboro. It's beauitful, but I have to use their event planner and everything has to go through them..sounds expensive and not quite what I had in mind. Doesn anyone have any ideas?

The Fearrington is beautiful but you're right, it's a bit pricey. Renting the barn for your event is around $3,500. The Barn at Valhalla is outside Chapel Hill off of 54 and I've heard it's super affordable. Cute outdoor fireplace and gazebo on the water too! There's also an upstairs with beds available to rent (extra fee) for guests that may need to sleep it off. http://www.barnatvalhalla.com

Winmock is a newly renovated barn venue outside of Winston, I've heard great things about it but it's about a 2 hour drive from Raleigh/Cary.  I will say, vendors are much more affordable for the quality if you choose people in Winston area as opposed to Raleigh/Cary, which is what we ended up doing!

I absolutley reccomend Shady Wagon Farms. I have all of their info, just PM me if you want a copy of their contracts and such. I my mom/ have conisdered or looked at almost every barn  from here to Greensboro. Including: Hayloft, Hodgkin, Groome, Rand Bryan, Elodie Farm, Snipes Farm, Leatherwood, HIllridge, Hudson, Fearrington,  ETC.
