How far in advance should bridesmaid dresses be ordered? Bridesmaids and I have not started looking and I am starting to get worried.

We ordered ours in October for an April wedding so we did ours 7months and thet arrived in Jan/Feb so you should probably start really focusing on them and getting something ordered.

My shop said 3 months. (Bill Levkoff dresses) We ordered in mid April and they should be in really soon. Our wedding is September.

I'd get on the ball ASAP unless you plan on buying off the rack. It takes time to get all the girls in the store measured and paid and then for fittings.

I wasn't feeling the whole "order from a salon" thing. We ordered from AnnTaylor.com and had them within a week. I also had a few in mind from Nordstrom.com, and I also suggested to them that we go to a few nice department stores together and look around.

We got the Ann Taylor dresses five months in advance - originally I planned on getting them maybe 2-3 months out, but they had a 40% off sale after Thanksgiving so I asked if they were cool making the jump earlier and they agreed. They waited until the month prior to get them tailored.

Also if you're short on time JCrew has a lot of options. The larger stores carry the bridemaid/occassion dresses.

We ordered the dresses in November for our June wedding. It can depend on the shop and the designer. We were told our designer (Bill Levkoff) stops production for the month of December. We got the dresses in April. I would start looking soon!

The AT dresses made everything SO easy.

I knew from the beginning that I wanted black cocktail dresses, and I found three on the AT website in the same color, fabric and skirt length. I had two BMs and offered them their choice, and they each picked a different one (one in v-neck and one in scoop-neck). I got the e-mail about the 40% off sale, e-mailed and texted them about their thoughts and their sizes, and within about two hours I placed the order. The dresses were delivered about 4-5 days later. No fuss, no muss.

I'm actually in the process of doing this. Two of my girls have ordered their dresses and I'm waiting on the other two. They are either going this week or next week. The dresses should come in sometime in November. Which is great because my FSIL is away at college, so she'll go for her fitting over Christmas break.

I think it depends on the manufacturer...My ladies ordered their Amsale dresses from Bella Bridesmaid in February and they received them at the end of May.

Also, just an FYI, some dress manufacturers close for the whole month of July, so i would get moving quickly! My girls ordered their dresses at the end of April for our October wedding.
