Did you and your DH speak at your wedding?

We have 3 days to go, and we still haven't decided if we are going to make a speech or not!

We are not planning on it.
I think after so many speeches, guests really do just stop listening.

If you want to thank people, I say do it at your Rehersal Dinner.

HaHa...I thought you meant to each other when I first read this!

I doubt we will...we probably will at the Rehersal Dinner tho.

No he didn't. We both did a lthank you speech at the rehersal. At the reception - we had the blessing, best man , and maid of honor speech, that was plenty!

Nope we wont. FI is a sap and cries at the drop of a hat during weddings. I just watched the video of his best man speach from a few years ago.  Bawling. LOL

No, and to be honest I don't know that I've ever seen an American couple do that...  I think it is common in other cultures though (an Australian friend said that 2 hours of speeches, including from the couple, is not all that uncommon there!!!).  We had my father speak (welcome and thank you to guests as host), then the BM and MOH toasts, and that was plenty of talking!

(I have seen a few couples speak at their rehearsal dinners though, particularly when they've hosted it.  We didn't -- my in-laws were hosting so my FIL did the welcome and thank you speech).

We did a thanks at our rehearsal... and DH was set on also saying a little something at the wedding. It went like this: Blessing, Best Men Speeches (yes, 3 of them! all of his brothers), FOG speech, MOH speech (well, not technically MOH b/c I didn't have one), FOB speech. I thought it would take forever, but they all kept it nice and sweet and short. Then, when we were going to do the cake cutting DH said his speech and I said a little thank you. People loved, loved the speeches- I was worried it would be boring, but they all did a great job with them. Each was funnier than the last

we didn't.  My friend and her husband did at theirs.  Their wedding was a little different though, not as much of a party atmosphere.  It's a nice touch if you don't mind stopping the dancing, fun, etc.

We thanked our families quickly at the RD the only thing we did at the wedding besides BM/MOH speech was I wished my Nonna (grandma) a happy 90th b-day and we sang to her and brought out a cake for her (her b-day was a few days pre-wedding)

We are just going to say "thank you so much for coming and we hope you have a wonderful time" right before our first dance.

I did,  I am the public speaker of the two.  I said a quick Thank you and read a short story I wrote that summed up our relationship, it was really cute.

No we did not. There are enough speeches going on with MOH and Bestmen. Spend more time dancing and having fun than speaking!

Yes, he is.  Only him, my MOH and BM.  At rehearsal dinner we are both saying a speech about each person in our bridal party.
