The Venetian

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their customer service is horrible these days! I am shocked myself. Part of the reason I booked there was because I heard they are great and treated their customers like gold.  I have called 3 times in the last 2 weeks and was promised a phone call back- so far nothing. I also emailed the general manager, Dave, and he is yet to respond. I feel like now that they have our money we dispensable. Not for nothing, but we are spending A LOT of money to have our wedding there and I don't think we should be treated like this! All I want are answers to simple questions about linens and a cigar roller...ugh they are on my nerves and I am trying not to lose it on them!

Unfortuately, with those larger, more expensive places, I found CS to be piss poor.  This also went for the Westmount Country Club, and Nanina's in the Park.  I know some people have had amazing experiences and will defend them to the end, but they were all "snobby" to us, like they were doing us a favor, blah, blah, blah.

All I can say is that they will probably come around, I doubt they are going to shaft you in any way, it just may not be level of personal attention you would expect when spending that much money somewhere.

Aww I'm sorry to hear you're going through this.  I have never had any problems getting in touch or a return call with anyone there.  Every time I've visited they have been more then accommodating. I haven't had to deal with them recently, hopefully this isn't a new trend their starting...I have 4 more months!  Let me know how it turns out.

I am having the same experience with the Brownstone.  They are too busy to worry about brides so far away. (not that I am agreeing, but I am just staing the truth I guess)  Sucks, but hopefully they can redeem themselves with a fantastic reception for you.

    Thanks!

I know they throw a great wedding so that's what I keep reminding myself. Just curious when did you meet to discuss the details of your wedding? My wedding isn't until June and I am trying to get some idea of a timeline.

Jen - What details are you worried about discussing with them? Menu and linens they told me like 10 days prior to the wedding we'd figure it all out.  I think the final head count is due maybe 3 weeks before the wedding? I can tell you what they told me on some other things that I've asked along the way...but yea, 6 months out is way too soon to be worrying about linens.

I know it's far in advance to ask about linens, but my question is just if the supplier carries table runners. I wanted to know what company they use and see if they have the pattern I want. Otherwise, I will have to get some custome made- I want paisley print and it's hard to find! We booked the cigar roller through them and I just wanted to know how many cigars are included.

By the way....10 days before the wedding to discuss the menu?!? To me that's nuts! I need at least a month to have custom menu cards made....ahh the stress Undecided

I think the 10 days assumes you're using the menu card's they are providing...I am DIYing my own and I'll have them all set to go just will need to type in the actual food...I'm sure they could do it sooner if wanted tho.

I have not had a problem at all with the Venetian and you can definitely review your dinner choices sooner than 10 days.  My wedding is in January and I met with them on October 2nd.  We picked out the dinner menu and the linens.  They were, as usual, very accommodating and helpful.

I think 10 days is when you're supposed to give a final headcount.

    Hope that helps!!
