Merry Maker's Water's Edge or WIndows on the Water- Sea Bright?

ANy Advice on MM Water's Edge or Windows on the Water (surfrider) in sea bright?  How is the food at both places- quality?  MM has a LOT of food listed, it seems like overkilll and im more concerned abotu quality.  Surfrider has very few choices on the standard menu, does not sound as impressive at least in writing (taste again unknown)

Both places are about the same price.

SUrfrider is supposed to undergo some major renovations to the space including an elevator, upstairs bathrooms and leveling the dance floor.  I would be booking site unseen.  My wedding is Oct 2011---  THe reno is art supposed to start Oct 10.

The proposed Reno sound s AWESOME and this COULD be a great new space.. if it finishes.  Any Advice?

From what I have heard MM Water's Edge is hit or miss.  Sometimes the food is good and sometimes it isn't.  I don't know about Windows on the Water, but I am not sure I would book a place on what they say they are going to renovate, because there is always a chance that it falls through.

I would agree with Felicia. I have been to event at Water's Edge where it was good one time but then so-so the next. I think it really depends on what food you pick from the menu. I have never been to an event at Windows on the Water so I don't have any opinions. GL!

Hi, when we started looking we looked at both, but we decided on Merri-Maker's for a couple of reasons:

1.) At the time, they were cheaper than Windows and we were getting a lot more for our money.
2.) Windows was the first venue we looked at and I fell in love with the outside area, but when we went upstairs the room was cramped and the dance floor was really small. Water's Edge has an L-shaped reception room, which is weird, but we decided it was better and more spacious.

I can't comment on the food yet. I discovered the knot after we booked and was a little concerned about the reviews. I'm hoping for a hit day at our wedding, but we said as long as no one gets food poisoning, we won't complain lol. We're actually going for a tasting July 28th, so I can give you more feedback then.

Lastly, you're taking a chance with the construction for Windows. But, that will be up to you and your fiance as to what you decide. This was almost 2 years ago, but when we met with the rep at Windows, she indicated that you can customize the menu. Not sure how much that will cost you though.

Let me know if you have any other questions...
