Bra vs. Cups?

I have no boobs. (Can't believe I'm starting a post like this)  My dress is strapless and cut really low in the back, so I'd rather not go through the nightmare of finding a bra I will probably hate.  Did anyone do cups in their wedding dress?  I've done it a lot for BM dresses, but wasn't sure about doing it for my wedding dress.

For the record I feel stupid for posting this.

I wanted to, but it did not look right.
I have your same problem, so I feel your pain!

The problem with the cups was, they literally are attached to the dress, and it caused a separation between ME and the dress itself, so anyone standing slightly taller than me could see right down my dress. =(

I have to go with a strapless bra, which I was not thrilled about, but truly does look better. The one I got is from Victoria Secret... I forget what its called, but its the one you can wear '7 different ways'... one way being strapless. Its not so bad  I guess.

    Good luck to you!

I had a strapless bra (and for the record I'm rather busty) but in a lot of my pics you see the bra...I'd rather you have seen a little more boob then bra.....You had a seperation between dress and body I had a seperation between dress and bra.

Good post - I also have the same situation, and I was planning on the cups, but I might have to think twice about it after seeing Heather's post (or wait to see the dress when it comes in).

I have the exact same issues--not much to fill a bra & a dress with a low back! My seamstress recommended cups so I went with those instead of a bra for my wedding dress. She sewed cups into a dress I wore for engagement pictures and it was comfortable and looked good.

My advice to everybody is just to see how it looks with both options.... everybody is differrent, and what looked the best on me might not be the best for you, so definitely see how both look!

I'm debating this too.  I want cups, but I don't think they would give me enough support.  I'm not huge, but I like to feel held in.

I had cups sewn into my dress and was very happy w/ the outcome. I don't have boobs either :) If I didn't go w/ the cups I wouldn't have worn a bra.

I don't think anyone will see anything because I don't have anything to show.

Maybe if the bodice is tight enough I won't have separation?  The weight I have left to lose is in my lower body, I don't expect to lose much more on top.  I really hope I don't.

I did have a BM dress where the cups were sewn in higher than where my boobs were and it was too big, so I had double-boobies and it drove me crazy. I kept trying to place them in the cups and they kept falling out.  Gotta love crappy seamstresses!!

Heather-I'm by no means an expert but maybe the dress needs to be taken in more on top.  I had the problem of the dress separating but the seamstress took in the dress more (on top of both cups) & it seemed to fix the problem.

I am having cups put in because my dress is corseted and pulls rather tight, so seeing my boobs shouldn't be a problem...I have never found a comfortable strapless, so I would rather wear cups.

Thanks everyone.  I have a bra that I can bring and try, but I really really don't want to wear it.

Anyone else reading please send me good chiropractor vibes in half an hour.  I don't know if it was overdoing it with running or what, but I couldn't stand up straight yesterday and could barely walk.   I'm a little better today and hoping he will fix me at 2:00.  No WW goal weight for me this week. :(

HELLO BOOBS!!!!!!!!!! it was awesome hehe! :) just something to think about...and she pulled my dress tight enough that there shouldnt be any seperation...hopefully when i go back in 2 weeks it will be perfect! :)

I had cups- looked so much better than a bra. You could see the bra, whereas the cups you couldn't once it was taken in properly. Try both- but I have a feeling you will like the cups better.

I was expecting to get cups too, but I hated them in my fitting.  I'm average sized, but I felt like the cups we just kind of floating in there not really offering much.  I was looking for a little lift because my dress has a deep sweetheart neckline and cups, even with a ton of padding, definitely didn't cut it.

I tried on a bustier with a deep V back and it felt SO much better and looked great.  I think if you go bustier or some longline bra they're more likely to stay in place than a regular strapless.

I am getting cups. Everytime i wear a strapless bra i have to pull it up every 5 seconds, and with the weight of the dress it would probably be even more often. I dont want to have to worry about that all day!

Im wearing both! Got cups sewn in and using a Vic. Secret bra that gives me a nice look....

Can you just not wear a bra? I have no boob either and just figured I wouldnt wear a bra- Ive done it before with bridesmaid dresses that were hard to wear a bra with and it worked fine as long as the top was fitted enough. Im sure cups look better, but if they are uncomfortable, braless might work too :) haha

i had cups sewn in (i'm busty btw) and LOVED it! kleinfeld was trying to talk me into the bra (probably to waste more $ there!) but i stayed perfectly in place.

They also make cups that stick to the boobs directly and then they dont' have to be sewn in the dress and you don't have to wear a bra.

This is a third option to consider.
