DJ Recommendations

Hi!  We're starting to look at possible DJs.    Any recommendations?   Not sure what to budget for a DJ - is $1500 too low?

I am paying 1550 for 5 hour dj, dance floor lighting and gobo.  Primtime Entertainers have been great. You pick your dj based on who you like from a showcase. They will go anywhere I am getting married in N Jersey and they are from Somerset County.

We recently booked Golden Note Entertainment and are very happy with them so far. Their base package starts at $1200 and goes up based on the emcee you choose and lighting.

We are looking into Danny C.  I am not sure how much his prices are though.

I just wanted to add that we had looked at 4 other DJs before booking Golden Note and they were all in the $1700 to $2200 range... so from my experience, $1500 sounds low.. but that entirely depends on what you are looking for.

I would definitely recommend Magic Moments (our MC was Jeff and I don't remember the DJ's name now).  They are in that price range for a pretty basic package.  Good equipment, good personality, and very professional.  They're located in Garfield.  Good luck!

We used Steve Guillen Productions in Wayne.  Steve was our MC and I can't recall the DJ's name but they were wonderful.  Very professional, stuck to our playlist and do not play lists.  I believe his basic package is around $1,300.00.

I'm paying about $1100 for a husband and wife team that acts as bilingual DJ/MC & bridal assistant, 4 hours of reception music, cocktail hour music, ceremony music, and basic intelligent lighting at the reception.

I am using Sounds to Go and music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception was right in line with your budget.

You should be able to find someone in that range.  At best, you may need to make a trade-off or two to keep things within your budget, but you'll be fine.
