What the heck is the difference? Please shed some light...

Well, I *think* skinny jeans are strictly denim, and jeggings could be spandex or cotton.... they just LOOK denim.  I don't wear either though. This is just what I have observed in US Weekly. =)

I think jeggings have MUCH more spandex in them than skinny jeans. Skinny jeans are closer to normal jeans, while jeggings are like leggings made out of denim. I don't have the guts to wear either- errr rather I do have a gut, hence not wearing them.

Love my jeggings....they have no zipper or button, but look like they do!  They are perfect to tuck your into your fall boots!
It is hard to convince myself they are not maternity pants though, but I got over that real quick when I realized how awesomely comfortable they were

Jeggings are leggings that look like jeans and skinny jeans are just very fitted denim.

I just bought these jeggings and I love them! I had to get them hemmed at the bottom since I'm short but really look forward to wearing them. They had a few options at macy's that were denim or courdaroy (sp)

I have several pairs of skinny jeans and they're very affirmatively jeans (albeit stretchy, tight ones) --  made of heavy denim.

Jeggings may or may not be made of denim, and tend to be lighter or less denimy denim if they are.  And some of the details (pockets, rivets, etc.) may be missing or not as functional as they'd be with jeans.

Sherri, I know both are scary but it may be worth trying.  I was very anti skinny jeans for a very long time because I figured they could not be flattering.  Now I rarely wear jeans that aren't my skinnies because they're so flattering.  Gap Always Skinny jeans (my favorites) are known for being flattering for all sorts of body types (and the rise is high enough that they can help with tummy issues in ways that lower rise jeans -- regardless of fit -- may not).

hmm...I have heard of jeggings but I have not tried them yet.  I love both skinny jeans and leggins so I can just imagine how much I would like this new fashion trend.

I havent tried the Gap skinny jeans but the American Eagles one are so stretchy and comfy, I would highly recommend them.

Skinny Jeans are actually denim, which is a woven fabric.

Jeggings are usually a VERY stretchy denim OR a knit fabrication that is made to look like Denim.  Then the fabric is constructed to look like Skinny Jeans.

i wear them both...but Jeggings are SOOO comfortable!  i have 3 pairs of the Hue brand....they're AMAZING.  J.Brand is my favorite Skinny Jeans brand.

I've been contemplating buying the legging jeans from the gap, but they look exactly the same as the always skinny...

However the legging is 90% cotton/ 10% polyester (yuck).

I love always skinny too! And those of you who are afraid- don't be!! I hate my thighs and I love the way skinny jeans make my legs look.

I tried them both on -- the material is really, really different.  The legging jeans are more jeans-like than many of the other jeggings I've seen, but they aren't nearly as jeans-like as the Always Skinnies.

I am completely obsessed with Jeggings, I find the only ones that fit me perfectly are from Express (and for you short girls, they come in SHORT)  They are so comfortable.  I actually wore normal jeans the other day for the first time in probably 6 months and it was really weird.  I am not as crazy about skinny jeans, the Jeggings from Express look like jeans, feel like jeans (to the touch)  but when they are on you, are nothing like jeans.

I was going to ask for it too because my feelings were hurt that I didn't get it, but then I realized that I bought two pairs of Always Skinnies over Labor Day weekend (and got a great deal on them with a 35% off promo combined with my $50 groupon that was purchased for $25, so I'm not bitter about missing this sale).  I need to stop having shopping amnesia.
