Did you bring people along to this?

Hello! I had a quick question for the other NC ladies

I have contacted a vendor about doing my hair and makeup and am trying to get my consult set up right now. I mentioned it to my mom and sister (MoH). They mentioned that they would love to come, plus my sister wants to get her hair done on the day of and would like to talk w/ the girl doing our hair and makeup to see if it's an option.

My question is, is it weird to bring along MoH and MoB to these things? I didn't know if the consult - which is going to be 3 hours long - is going to be better if it's just me and the make up artist, or if it was normal to bring friends to these things.

Thanks for your help!

They may get bored, but I seen nothing wrong with bring them along. Plus, they may be able to throw out some ideas to assit you in your decision.

With that said though, be sure you pick your style based on what you want. Don't be overly influenced :)

I had my makeup and hair trial today. My mom and sister were there (my sister was getting a haircut during part of it though), but it wasn't weird at all. If you want their opinion then go for it.

I'm planning to take my Mom to mine next Friday.  They'll be doing her makeup and she wants to talk to them about her makeup allergies as well.  Best not to spring these things on folks at the last minute was our thinking.

I had my mom at mine.  My salon is right by her house though, so she came about half way through so she wasn't sitting there the whole time.  I would not have wanted to do it alone though, it is definetely better to have someone else who you trust to give honest opinions, especially if you are working with a hair stylist you haven't worked with before!

I brought my mom- and would have brought my sister, but she lives in Greenville. IMO, it's whatever you're comfortable with. I wanted someone there to be an "outside" opinion, plus my mom is my sounding board for creating a "timeless" look on wedding day.

I was TERRIFIED on the makeup, because I don't wear a lot, but my MUA was great, and stopped after she applied each product so I could see and my mom could see...I wanted to make sure it looked as natural as possible! :)
