By "caterers," do you mean venues where the food is included (on-site catering), or are you looking for a food company who will prepare and deliver food to a site (outside catering)?

If you're looking for on-site catering, there are many options here, but you need to tell us your budget and style preferences.

If you're looking for off-site catering, there are very few venues here that will allow you to do this, although they do exist.

We are using In Thyme Catering, they are located in River Vale and work out of the Florentine Gardens.  The food is delicious.  They have been great to work with and really take time for us. They worked with our budget and made a menu that was exactly what we wanted.

We met with The Market Basket and they were so rude.  I was so surprised because of all the good reviews.  It took going there 3 times before they actually were willing to sit down and discuss our wedding and not just go over the basic catering menu.  The woman we met with did not listen to what we wanted and just kept saying we should do what she wants.  The worst thing was after the meeting she told us she get a proposal to us in a few weeks (most places took a week max), but I was ok with that.  After a month passed and still no word I followed up at that point it was around Thanksgiving and was told they wouldn't be able to get back to us until JANUARY because they were in there busy season. I felt completely unimportant.  The only reason I followed about again in February was to find out what their cost would be.  If you meet with them make sure you keep on top of them or they will just blow over you.

kjones927- would you be able to tell me about how many people you have and how much if possible is your budget was for catering?

We are planning on 120 and our budget for catering was around $12000.  What was nice about this caterer is that our cost also included all the servingware and tableware.  When meeting with caterers some put on the very less page that there are additional costs for all of those things.
