Guest List Etiquette Question

I am having a maid & matron of honor, and I had origianlly intended to invite both of their parents to my wedding since we all grew up together.  However, shortly after I got engaged my matron got engaged and already had her wedding.  My parents were not invited to her wedding, and now my mom is insistant I can't invite her parents to my wedding.  Is that the rule?

I don't think invitations are tit-for-tat, if you want her parents there they should be invited, even though she decided not to invite your parents. Most of my bridal party's parents are invited, because we've known them for years.

  • I agree with PPs, there is no rule about that... however, if your parents happen to be paying for the wedding, and they don't want to invite them, then I wouldn't..
