Villaggio Brides

Hey ladies. Called up the venue to talk about moving some tables around and they let me know that Bob will not be at my wedding this Friday because he had a death in the family. I hope he is doing well. We have developed quite a relationship during the planning process. Thank goodness John was kind enough to give me a buzz on my cell phone so he and myself could chat about the 3 million details that I worked with Bob on for the last 9 months. He seems like a really good guy and also seems to be a detail freak like myself. Now I'm all confused on what to do for my tip that I set aside for Bob. It's a pretty good amount of money but I also want to make sure I take care of John now since he's helping me out. lol  Gotta love the last minute changes.

From what Ive heard, the coordinator doesnt really do much the day of, its mostly the maitre d and for your FI, the bridal attendant, so I wouldn't worry about John at all and stick with maybe just giving a little something to Bob. Are you tipping cash or giving a gift?

Even though we didn't book Il Villaggio we met with John mutliple times and he seems like he knows what he is doing. I wouldn't worry I am pretty sure everything will be fine.

You have NOTHING to worry about.  John is nothing but amazing.  I can't say enough good things about him.  You are in good hands!

I'm not a Villagio bride, but I wanted to give my 2 cents anyways lol...I'd probably give the new guy a small gift, perhaps a bottle of wine or a small gift certificate. He was still very proactive and helpful to you, and while we hope that this would be the case, we all know that professionals are not always, well, professional. He may not be your maitre'd (my coordinator at the venue was, so if he is, I'd give him a tip for that for sure), but he's probably going to be there at least at the beginning of the day to make sure all those details you discussed with him get executed perfectly.
