#2 sounds better, not sure if it's the proper way though.

I have a feeling #3 is correct though.... Google spanish wedding ettiquette?

jrgoogrl - That's the one FI and I were thinking and then he started second guessing himself and thought it should be responder instead of responde.

    Thanks!

These point to #3 being the proper wording.

Kcullen is right, I remember now that you shouldn't use the Por.
     #3 is the proper way.

Aghhhh!  Hahaha.  Alright, thanks ladies!  At least I have versions that are definitely grammatically correct now.  Maybe I'll just ask FI's mom which of them she likes best.

I think it just boils down to how "formal" you want it to read.

    #3 is correct. #2 is a command and isn't as "proper." :o)

    Sorry I meant to say:

Favor de responder antes del 15 de junio del 2011

However, if you wish to make it absolutely clear what response you are looking for do this:

Favor de responder antes del 15 de junio del 2011 para confirmar su asistencia

Presencia is not the proper word to use in this sense.

    I think...

    1. Por favor responder antes del 15 de junio del 2011 para confirmar su presencia

    is the best.
