the things that jump out at me (although honestly, it is pretty clean to start!)

    - I'd probably omit your last names because your parents' last names are included (also, I'd edit them out here so you don't get cyberstalkers)
    - This celebration of love will be on" sounds strange to me and maybe too casual-- I'd prefer "will take place on"
    - I prefer "two thousand eleven"
    - I don't believe the year should be capitalized, but I defer to others on that
    - there is no reason to capitalize "five-thirty," and at any rate I think it should be "half past five"
    - technically because the reception is at a different place its information should be on a separate card -- but I think you can get away with what you have (although it is an action-packed invitation)

Annnd...that was my family's church, too! Do either of you remember Father Orfanakos (I think he's there part time now) or his son, "Father George," who stepped down from the Priesthood a few years ago? He was remarried at St. George's to his second wife. Apparently you can be a divorced, practicing priest in the Greek Orthodox Church & you CAN remarry (sorry if you know this!) but you cannot remarry IN the Orthodox Church. Wacky Greeks we are ;)

George is only a few years older than me ;-/ and I used to do GOYA stuff with him & his younger sister (his older brother Peter is a priest as well).

SO sorry to be SO far off topic...and of no help, though I think your responses cover your question! :)

Peaches are you getting married there?????????????

Nope!  I'm not getting married there... my father is Methodist so I was actually never baptized at all.  My mom and her 7 brothers and sisters all grew up in Clifton and Paterson and they all were baptized and went through GOYA at Saint George.  And all of my Yia-Yia's siblings still go there or had their funerals there and all of my cousins were baptized there.

I'm the odd one out... kind of like the anti-Christ since I was never baptized, haha.  But I did go to services at Saint George when I was growing up (in addition to services at a local Methodist church).

Oh!  And I did know about Father George!  :-)   In fact before my parents were married he was their counselor because my dad didn't want to get married without a priest's blessings even though they weren't getting married in the church.  My mom loves him and to this day she calls every priest we meet Father George because in her mind he is the "only" priest, haha.

Peaches...cute about your mom & Father George, very sweet that your dad wanted the blessing!

My parents were married in (my mom is not Greek) the now-shut down, once "Mother Church" of G.O. churches in NJ- St. Nicholas, Newark. My brother & I were baptized there, too, by the late Father Aloupas (<-- a lot of older Greek people anywhere in NJ know of him; he was an amazing person). It's now rebuilding in more suburban, safe Roseland.

Maria, I did not get married in the church, either. I didn't convert (my husband is Lutheran by baptism) but I wasn't married in the church. Greek Orthodox ceremonies are so beautiful & so rich in tradition...

At the time, I felt my now DH would feel alienated by the ceremony/not understanding, etc. but so much has changed to make the couple, if not both Greek Orthodox, and their guests feel more included so I don't know if I should have been concerned.

Some of my family was disappointed but they recovered quickly ;)
