No... I wish I could!  I have grad school on Thursday nights and I already skipped the maximum number of classes you're allowed before they start knocking points off your final grade, haha.  :-(

Oh bummer! But that's awesome that you're in school and planning a wedding. Must be adding some stress though, but yet you seem very ahead of the game.

Well, it WOULD be stressful if I still had a job, haha.  I got laid off from my teaching position at the end of this past school year because of all the budget cuts and whatnot, so aside from sending out resumes constantly, I have a lot of free time for my school work and wedding stuff while FI is at work.

Thanks!  :-)  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get a job before then, though!  That's why I'm trying to get as much done as possible now (in case I do get a job within the next few months) because I remember how crazy it was when I first started my last teaching job.

No that's great! That's what FI and I did. Once we got engaged we went into everything head first so that this holiday season we're able to sit back and enjoy everything!

I will! He said if you need anymore help to just let me know. Also he did mention that when he sends stuff to Ecuador he uses a company called Delgado Travel. He says it's a little more expensive than the Post Office, but stuff doesn't get lost. Just thought I'd mention in case it could be of help to you!

Oh my god!  Funny story about Delgado Travel!

FI and I went there to send our save the dates (we went to the one in Elizabeth) and we decided to send all the ones to Ecuador together in a box so that FI's aunt could distribute them to the rest of the family members.  We figured it'd be best because we know how lousy the postal system is in Ecuador and, as a result, we didn't want to send them via regular mail. We planned on going to Delgado Travel with our STDs in hand and just asking them to put them in a box to send for us.

When we got there, we waited FOREVER in line behind this huge group of guys that was there buying a million tickets to the Colombia vs. Ecuador game at The Meadowlands earlier this month (apparently I was the only one there who thought it was strange they sell tickets to soccer games there, haha).  I was getting annoyed because it was taking so long and when we finally got to the counter the woman goes, "I have to open each envelope."  I was like WHAAAATTT?!  I begged and pleaded with her to let us send them without opening them because they were for our wedding but she refused and she read down a list of possible items (including drugs) that we could be hiding in the envelopes.

I must have been in a worse mood than I realized because I snapped and yelled at the top of my lungs:  WHAT?!  YOU HONESTLY THINK WE HAVE DRUGS IN THESE?!  DO YOU THINK WE'RE SENDING DRUGS BACK TO ECUADOR?!  Everyone in line behind us stopped talking and FI turned beet red and started dragging me out as I proceeded to yell, "THIS IS AMERICA!!!  UPS WOULD NEVER MAKE US OPEN OUR ENVELOPES OR PACKAGES!!"  I realize now how crazy I looked, but I was just having one of those days, haha.

Needless to say, FI refuses to go back in there to mail anything ever again and we wound up taking everything to UPS where we were able to send our STDs without anyone opening them and they got to Ecuador just fine.  It was expensive as hell to send them, but at least they made it there.  :-)

Next time (for our invitations) we'll probably use FedEx, because we found out after the fact that my mom gets a 75% off discount through her job on anything sent through FedEx.

But tell your dad thank you so much for the suggestion and I'll definitely let you know if I have any other questions (which I'm sure I will)!  :-)

LOL! That is hilarious! I probably would have reacted the same way though. But in reality they do have to check everything because who knows what people "could" be sending.

That's awesome you'll get a discount through Fedex though! That's a huge savings! I'll just have my dad send the package from Delgado Travel, but he does it for me so that way he can wait on line. Hehehe!
