I found my dress there, but bought it at another shop.  When I was there the first time they gave me a price for the dress and an additional charge for a change I wanted to make.  When I went back to look at it again, the additional charge more than doubled.  The woman that helped me was lovely, but I found the owner and manager to be really abrasive and pushy.  I also didn't appreciate the change in price when they knew they "had me".  Luckily another shop matched the original price they gave me.  I've heard of girls having great experiences there, so if it's a convenient location for you, you might want to check it out yourself and see how you feel.

Several years ago my aunt got married and all of the men had their tuxes done there.  HORRIBLE experience for all of them.

    I got my dress there.

I thought the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude, and I almost didn't go to look there because of her- I called on two separate occasions to make an appointment, and she was very nice until I said I would be coming on my own.  Then she changed her tune and told me that they had a busy afternoon, or I had alot of time until my wedding, so why don't I wait until I could come with family members or bridesmaids.
I ended up going anyway because I had two friends who said they had alot of pretty dresses, and I found mine there. Once I was there, the woman who helped me was great- very patient and helpful.
I ended up getting my dress there, but I did call around to see if anyone else nearby carried it- just because I was still annoyed about how I was treated on the phone each time I called.  None of the other shops in the area had the dress in their store though, so I when I went back to Roma to try it on again and make sure, I ended up ordering it there.

I called them once because I wanted to look for a second dress to change into for the after party, the lady of the phone was extremely rude. I simply asked her if I need an appointment, she said "our dresses start at $2500", it was all I needed not to make an appointment, why would they assume what I can or cannot afford.

Kathy, aside from the woman on the phone being rude, she also isn't honest!  The dress I got there was less than that.

I had the same experience as Kathy so I never bothered to even call them back.  She was the rudest person I have encountered in the planning process!

I think that might have been "THE" Roma.  She sat at the front desk and made me parade around in every dress I tried on, then told me how great it looked on me and that I should buy it :)

Roma is the old lady behind the desk-- she is basically there as a place of "honor"- doesn't really do much.  The super tanned woman is the rude one I think you are referring to.  She was very nice to me and my mom but I could see how she is pushy.... she seems to feel that she owns the place and takes credit for everything "I do the best alterations, all my dresses are beautiful"--- meanwhile, she doesn not do the alterations herself nor does she design dresses herself.

I orderd my veil from roma though- still waiting for it to come in.

I have not gone there because I was a little put off by the mixed reviews.  I had one cousin go there and had a great experience, she said she would recommend them.  The other cousin had a bad experience ordering her bm from there.  My cousin is a size 0, very tiny girl, and they ordered her a size 10!  When the dress came in, the dress ltterally fell off her body it was so big.  Then they tried to charge her an arm and a leg for alterations.  After much fighting - they eventually agreed to do the alterations for free since they ordered the wrong the size.  She said that she would NEVER recommend Roma to anyone....

I didn't want to deal with that for my dress so I didn't bother going there.  I went to Exquisite Bride and so far I love them (but I only just ordered my dress from there).

I had been referred to Bridals by Roma by a friend of mine who had a good experience there.  I bought my dress there and haven't had any problems thus far.  The woman I've spoken to on the phone anytime I've called has been very friendly.  The sales person I did deal with was ok; I'm not sure if it was Roma, but the woman definitely was a little tough, and some people may view her as a little pushy.  They offered me my dress at the best price anywhere else and included alterations and a bustle at no additional charge.

I had thought that when we first walked in, I was going to immediately walk out because of the prices, however, I was definitely able to find dresses less than $2,500 (mine being one of them!) - so the person that answered the phone and quoted that amount was wrong.

They have a lot of dresses to choose from and one of the best bridesmaid dresses selections.

I just called them and it's slated to arrive by the end of this month - hopefully all will work out :)

Check out www.weddingwire.com - there are a lot of reviews on the bridal shops.  Good luck  :)

Pebbles- alterations are included in the price of the dress.....i think they put one over on your cousin. They do not charge alterations at roma- they say they are "free" but then you notice that they up the price of the dress to encompass alterations.

Beware, Do not shop there. They promised my dress to come in at the end of March, when I called in march they said at the end of May, my wedding is early June. They gave me so much stress and I still dont have my dress.
