1-2 weeks before wedding list

I know I have time, but I am trying to make a list to keep on file of what I need to do 1-2 weeks before the wedding (I figure this gives me plenty of time to realize if I left something out)
Here is what I have so far:
-confirm all vendors and confirm honeymoon
-confirm w/ venue what time vendors can arrive, etc
-review timeline w/ vendors/church/venue
-make final payments
-song list to band
-must have photos to photog
-final guest counts to venue and RD
-give all wedding party menbers and family a timeline
-bring items to venue such as place cards/OOT bags/favors/etc

Anything I am missing? My venue is a hotel so the room block and all that would be confirms too.

I would include a list for the venue of everything you are dropping off and exactly how you want it placed or put out at the reception.  That way they know exactly what you want.

Also, one thing I totally forgot, if you are driving to th airport you need to reserve a place. LOL I just did it yesterday I was very nervous they werent going to have space for us!

Thanks! Would it be too Type A of me to set up the stuff I am leaving for the venue and take pictures of it to bring to them to show them how I want it displayed? Like a mock up? Or would that annoy them? haha

Personally I don't think that is necessary, but if it is something that is complicated to set up or if they are setting up your CPs then maybe.   What type of item are you talking about?

I am having my placecards in votives and they will surround a crystal tree - really not very complicated, but wasnt sure if that would confuse anyone. Also they will be setting up our candy buffet and I have little led lights I want included on it. Thats about it. Menu cards, etc I dont think need explanation.

I don't think you need pictures to be honest..I would just include a detailed explanation of where you want everything.   I would even include where you want the menu cards....do you want them on the plate, or in front of the place setting?

For favors...is it one per place setting, or one for every other, or do you just want them in one spot on the table so everyone can take one.

Brides like things done the way they want it...believe me put an explanation for everything you are dropping off, that way it is done exactly the way you want it.    The person setting up has probably done it a million different ways so don't expect them to know how you want things.

Thanks- question about menu cards- Ive seen them where they have them with the napkin kinda folded around them- is that something most venues can do? I think it looks really elegant, but I dont know if that is something venues od or just when someone has an event planner who does it for them

My venue did that but it was their menu cards, and I have seen that done at other venues as well at weddings with no coordinator.  I would call and ask them if they can do that...I guess it would depend on who is setting up and if they can actually do that.

I think pictures are a great way to ensure that your candy bar & placecard/tree set up turn out how you want them to look. If you have the time, go for it! Also, if you want your menus & napkins to be placed a certain way, then send them a picture of that too. I'm sure that your maitre d' will be more than happy to do it how you want it done--it's probably not that difficult. Send them pics along with written instructions...I don't think you can be too careful!

I had a DOC and although I gave her extremely detailed written instructions, she still missed several important details. One of the few things she actually did correctly was the dessert bar set up since I provided a sample picture from another event. It would have been impossible for me to have made mock-ups of everything that she missed because some were just common sense, but pictures may have avoided her "forgetting" so many of my details, even though they were listed clearly in the instructions.  

Also, I don't think there are many things that a venue would not be able to handle when it comes to details. They are in the wedding business & as a PP said, they've done these things a million times. No need for an event planner for menu cards   There's nothing wrong with Type A. Sometimes it's appreciated!
