Dyson Animal and Bissel Pet Hair Eraser (I figure people will either buy one or the other).

Yes, the Oreck XL Classic.  We have 3 floors in our townhouse and this is nice and light to carry up all of the stairs.

    The Ball: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=16352519

I don't expect any one person to get this for us, but I figured I'd add it on the chance that maybe a group of people, or coworkers, will chip in for it.

I've heard Eurekas are good for pet owners, too. But anything would be an improvement over our current vaccum.

I wanted to, but felt bad because MIL bought us a vacuum when we first moved in together. It really doesn't work very well.

    We registered for three:

Hoover® Anniversary WindTunnel Self-Propelled Bagged Upright Vacuum
    Bissell® Versus™ Bare Floor Vacuum
    Bissell® Little Green® Proheat™ with Detailing Tool

I can't say anything about any of them because I just got them at my shower on Sunday, so none of them have been used yet.

We registered for the Bissell Pet vacuum.  I got it for my shower, but we HATED it.  The canister didn't hold a lot and it didn't seem to really pick up things well.  So we returned it, and put the money towards the Dyson Pet Vacuum (the one with the ball) and we love it.

If you register at Macy's, right after you get married, you get 20% off of any purchase.  So we got it for actually a very good price (in case no one buys it for you!)

I got my sister the breast cancer awareness pink Dyson Ball for her wedding, so she got me the Dyson Ball Animal for my wedding.

If she hadn't, I would have registered for it.

It is the best vacuum ever. Emptying it is easy, it's a little heavy but rolls well, and has a bunch of attachements, and best, it has THREE filters, so no weird vacuum smell when I'm sucking the dirt from behind furniture.

It's made me a vacuum fanatic!

Yes the Eureka Boss. We've used it for less than 2 years and the handle broke off. My next vac (hopefully my Christmas present) will be the Kenmore Intelliclean. It's the highest rated vac tested by Consumer Reports (yes, better than the Dysons), which I consult for a LOT of purchases.
