The Nest is Scaring Me!

Okay I just went over to the NJ Nest board and someone was asking about how long they have to wait after drinking alcohol to breast feed and if they should pump and then throw out the milk (aka Dumping) .  Okay this is a completely legitimate question, but I am not anywhere near ready to have kids and this is something that I would have never thought about.  Now its on my mind.  I'm scared! Sometimes that board is okay but today it just freaked me out.

If I ever get pregnant, I'm totally going to read a book to teach me that kind of stuff (although I had actually heard about pumping and dumping -- go me!).  Mostly the Nest doesn't scare me, it just doesn't grab me.  I don't plan one year old birthday parties, I don't know which mall in Bergen County has the best play area for kids, I don't know where to buy a crib, I don't LOL at videos of CGI babies on roller skates, and I specifically do not find diaper jeans cute and did not think the commercial for them was funny.  Not much for me over on the local board.  

So for the time being, you guys are stuck with me

Some of the topic boards are good though.  I really like Money Matters and Fashion & Beauty, and find Health & Fitness and Pets helpful when I have questions (they're a little tougher to be a regular on).

I do like the Recipe Board on thenest... and there is also a really good coupon one ~ but I haven't ventured to any others! I have heard stories here! LOL

Aren't baby questions and issues supposed to be in The Bump (hate that name, by the way)?

Agree with uppereast - the nest doesn't scare me either but it bores me.

TK doesn't excite me either.  I'll probably just bypass and join the bump or give up the forums for the most part.

Felcia, you will soon hear about pumping and dumping once your friends are having babies.  Definitely some interesting things with babies and breast feeding in the future.  But I hear ya about the topics over there.

The topical boards are good. The NJ Nest board is mostly kid/baby talk, so I don't say much on there.

I don't know why the kid talk isn't on the Bump. Not a big deal, but isn't that the point of the Bump?

I just wasn't prepared for "pump and dump' at 9 am on a Saturday.......I'm not there yet.  hahaha.  

The only board I really like over there is the Decorating and Renovations Board, that has been helpful

Agreed with Uppereast ( that made me laugh aloud) & others....and topical boards, like recipes/cooking, reading, are ok but overall I'm not gripped/compelled to hang out there much

Ugh - I'm in a sad place - I miss the Knot but can not handle the Nest. LOL   Felicia-  Pump and Dump - I never heard of it, and I am soooooooooo not there yet!! UGh
