Cost for Pianists?

Does anyone know approximately how much it might cost to hire someone to play the  piano just for our cocktail hour?

We love the idea, but I'd like to find out if it's way out of our price range before we start calling anyone..

Also, any recommendations would be welcome! (Our venue does have a piano.)

We get our musician in our package, but other places we looked said about 300. This is a good site you can find different musicians.

Bruce Foster- love love love him! I had a bunch of demo CDs sent to me and his was the best. He came highly recommended by my venue, and when I went to see him play at a restaurant I could see why. My cocktail hour music is one of the things I'm most excited about. His cost is (or was when I inquired) $225 for the hour.

Our band provided a pianist for us and it was very reasonable  We used Soul Revival in Dec and loved them!  The pianist is also the owner and band leader and is really good.  I highly recommend them.  www.soulrevivalband.com

Prof. musicians typically get an average of 100-150 / hr.  However, for small gigs, they factor in things such has travel expenses and time, setup, etc.  I would say a fair price is in the 200 dollar range for an hour of playing.  Note that this is the one thing where a "friend of the family" may actually save you money with little risk
