Wholesale Flower Shop in Northern NJ?

Hello knotties.  I am a very old knottie- 3 year anniversary is next week!!!!

My sister's bridal shower is on Sunday and I need ideas of places to go to in Northern NJ to buy flowers for the bridal shower.  I'm trying to keep costs down.  I was going to go to Metropolitan Plant and Flower Exchange in Saddle Brook but I was just told that they now only do events and wholesale with ID only. (I obv don't have a wholesale tax ID)  When they did my wedding 3 yrs ago you could go in and just buy stuff too.  Bah!  So, where else can I go?  Costco has some decent prices on roses sometimes.  So does ShopRite.  I need other ideas.  Thx!

Not sure if they do wholesale flowers, but Mueller's in Newark sells wholesale floral supplies (vases, ribbons, rocks, etc).  I know they do sell flowers, I'm just not sure if they sell them wholesale... I'd assume they do though.  Give them a quick call... very friendly and helpful!

There is a Metropolitan Plant and Exchange in Fort Lee which is another branch of the Saddle Brook one but much bigger and that one is open to the public. Why dont you call them?

I can buy nice, cheap flowers in NYC but was trying to avoid driving that far.  I guess if I can't find anything else locally I may still do that.

Are you far from Fort Lee? Dont they have another location in Paramus, NJ?

I did baby shower centerpieces from Costco and Michael's.

I went to Michael's and bought a short vase like this: http://www.michaels.com/art/online/projectsheet?pid=e07882

Then I went to costco and bought one bunch of roses for about every two vases.  I cut the stems short and made like short rounded centerpieces stuffed with roses.  I also bought ribbon and tied a bow around the mouth of the vase.  they were super cute and economical.  If you want to get fancy you can buy greenery and line the inside of the vase so it looks green.

I did flowers for a party from Corrados in Clifton. They had bunches that I bought and stuck in vases. Also, they might work out a deal for you, I know someone who used them for their wedding, bought the flowers wholesale and then had a friend do the bouquets etc.  www.corradosmarket.com HTH

Wait are you saying that I can get a discount with Metropolitan if I produce a tax ID #? My FMIL owns a business and went there with me and they know her there are never offered me a discount. Should I ask them?
    Thanks.

    Kathy,
Let me rephrase.  If you have a Tax ID # they will let you shop at their saddlebrook location.  No additional discount.
