Does anyone have any information on the Stone House at Stirling Ridge? If you liked or did not like it as a venue selection for a wedding? Price range? Any information would be helpful!
I visited and it's very beautiful. It's only about 10 minutes from where I live (and my church), so the location and ambiance were perfect. However, the prices are a bit outrageous. The owner was willing to work with us but the prices still exceeded what we wanted to pay per person. Also went here for dinner w/ FI and while the food was pretty good, it was definitely overpriced.
I want to say I was quoted $150 Fri/Sun and $175 Sat for peak season 2010. I did not book there. I can look back at exact figures if you'd like but I'd bet they would tell you over the phone the amount.
It was nice but I didn't feel they gave you enough food for your $. The ballroom would have been too small for my amount of guests. The bridal suite was tiny also. But overall, asthetically pleasing! I hear the food is good.
I have heard mixed reviews. I had a HORRIBLE experience with them, overall I think the space is beautiful, but it is overpriced for the quality of food and what you are actually getting.
1) They say is everything is fresh and made to order, and hence don't have freezers!
2) 175 for a Saturday night in-season, subtract 10% for Off-Season.. ... The best they could do was $155 (after tying to negotiate). And that would be +Grat and + Tax.. so you'd be look at $190- pp for a Saturday night.
3) Place is gorgeous, food seems amazing, you can eat there, but it's a bit pricey in the restaurant (some of their martini's are like $15)
I went to visit after seeing pictures of another Knottie's wedding there. It is beautiful but I had a couple of issues. The pricing was in our range but they would not deviate from their standard 5 hour plan. We wanted more of a cocktail reception. If you get married on site, the ceremony is outside -- no matter if you get married in August or April (as we did). They have a really nice patio and will bring in heaters, etc., but this was a bit of a concern for us. We were married at 7pm on April 3rd of this year and had torrential downpours until about 6pm that night - it would have been an issue. The main issue I had is that the person that I met with pretty much called it in, she went through the motions of showing us the space but did not really seem interested in us booking there. In fact, she never followed up with me despite several attempts. I ended up booking the Bernards Inn very shortly thereafter. It really is a nice space and hopefully they have worked out some of the kinks.
