Need Venue

My fiance and I have finally set our date for August 2014 and are trying to find a venue that we both like and can afford. We're looking for a venue that can host the ceremony as well. The wedding will be small, about 5075 ppl. I'd really like to stay under 100ppl. We're open to alternative locations as long as there's indoor plumbing a renovated barn/farm for example. Most places I called have a 100ppl minimum. Plus, I'm not a great negotiator. Any helpful recommendations would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance ladies!!

  • Congrats!  You can check out the Richfield Regency.  Their prices are amazing and def fits within your budget.  They recently renovated a lot so everything is new.  Good luck!

Local restaurants are probably going to be your best bet.  Try looking into ones with private rooms. A friend of mine got married at Andiamo in Haworth, NJ. The have an out door patio where you can have your ceremony.

  • I have no idea what Bayonette Farm in Holmdel costs or what the minimum is, but it may be worth checking out.  There's also some wineries in the state that may be able to accomodate small parties.  What area of NJ are you interested in?

  • Bayonet Farms is stunning but out of your price range, the red barn rental is $2,000.00 and the gray barn is $1,500.00, rental fees do not include permits, tables, chairs, etc. Any caterer that is willing to work in the space has a "minimum" revenue, the cheapest I found was $4,500.00 and a lot of caterers turned away the venue because water is not potable. Unfortunately I had been determined to have my wedding there and just couldn't afford it...I had the same requirements as far as guest list and budget went...

Anyway, the places I found most helpful and willing to work with....

Gran Centurions - Clark, NJ - Loved the guy who ran the place, but the ballroom minimum was too high and I personally hated the space downstairs which was *suitable" for our size party, however there is a little room off to the side upstairs that will accommodate approx. 50 guests that wasn't too bad.

Somerville Elks Lodge - Bridgewater, NJ - Looks nothing like the typical Elks and the food isn't bad at all.

If you choose 'off season' and a Friday night, Davids Country Inn in Hackettstown is amazingly accommodating with price and guest guarantee, the only downfall is the ceremony space is $850.00.

Doolans Shore Club - Hated the service I was receiving when I went to look at the place.

The Reception Center at Saint Clement - Matawan, NJ

Pantagis - Scotch Plains, NJ - This seems to have very mixed reviews, I personally really liked it. I thought the customer service was amazing, a lot of the rooms were pretty and clean (if you like that look, lots of stained glass, etc) and a girl friend of mine was married there (did not attend the wedding), but she highly recommended it and said the food was great.
