I found a Ring Pillow that I love - which I will need 2 of for my boys. At first I thought eh I don't need a ring pillow we'll just have them walking down the isle holding hands... and then I found this: (from the original runner company)
I emailed them and asked for pricing information. This pillow STARTS at $125!!! WHAT?? I would never in my life spend $250 on 2 pillows!! Soo the crafty side got to thinking.
1) I could buy a decent cotton off-white fabric
2) I could buy a pack of 18 Avery Iron-on Transfer sheets for $20 on Amazon (these are really good quality)
3) I could ask my Graphic Design BM - Lauren to create me something similar to that design in photoshop or illustrator (8 inch x 8 inch)
4) I print the design on the transfer then iron it onto the material
5) Ask my Aunt to sew the material into a pillow and stuff it (this would take 10 minutes)
6) I could put the finishing touches, glitter glue, rhinestones - bedazzle it up
and voila I could make (DIY myself and the assistance from a few helpers) 2 pillows for less than $10 each!
I'll post the final results once they are complete!
