What is processional/recessional order and other questions..

FI and I are having a non-religious ceremony. We want the bm's to walk down alone, but after the ceremony walk back with a groomsmen. This is how my mom "sees" the order. Fi's nieces (not sure of the title yet, wedding greeters? ), flower girl and ring bearer, groomsmen, best man, FI's parents with his grandfather, FI, Bridesmaids, Maid of Honor, and then me walking with my parents. For after ceremony it would be Fi and me, bridal party will match up, then our parents, and then everyone else row by row. Is that correct or am I way off? My mother said the parents should go before the bridal party, which I think she is way off about. Is it common for the whole bridal party to stand up there with us or just the best man and made of honor?

Also, did/will you have your bridesmaids walk in height order? Did or will you have people stand as you walked down the aisle?

Sorry for all the questions..I'm getting stressed!

We had it go in this order.....

    officiant
my husband followed by his groomsmen

    his grandmother
    his parents
    my stepmother and grandmother
    my mom and stepfather
    bridesmaids/MOH last
    ring bearer
    flowers girls
    me  with my Dad

I have never seen it done in the order you have it listed, but you can really do it however you want to be honest.   I didn't really have the Groomsmen and Bridesmaids in height order, I just picked an order that I wanted them to walk in.

Typically it should be as follows:

    Parents of Groom
    Parents of Bride
    Groomsmen
    Best Man
    Groom
Bridesmaids with family closest to you
    Maid of Honor
Flower girls/ RIng bearer (they go right before you)
    Bride

This is what my DOC told me when we talked about it the other day!
