Affordable DJ?

We are looking for an affordable DJ - around $500. Is that price range even possible? We are on a very tight budget and don't need any gimmicks, just someone to play the music!! Any advice or recommendations?

That range does seem very low, but you never know. You'd have better luck around the 1k range. Would you be able to do an ipod hookup?

Not sure...the lowest I have personally seen was around $800 I think? I've used a scaled down DJ for work events before who charged me $250 for 2 hours. It's nothing high tech though- literally a guy with several speakers setup and some sort of soundboard (never really checked it out) who played cd's throughtout my events. If your interested, you can call Moonwalk Adventures. They are based out of Hamilton NJ, but travel throughout the state. The owner actually was a former wedding DJ, so he might be able to do it and have something else in mind or you could hire this DJ through him. Sorry I can't be more help

it said packaged starting at $385...never heard of them though. 
You may need to just google a bunch, make appointments and see who you feel will work best for you guys.

What part of Nj are you in ? Ours was $650 he has done every family wedding of mine he is a high school teacher in our town and does all the school dances and does weddings on the side. PM me if youw ant his contact info if your in North Jersey (Morris,Sussex)
