Gifts for Parents

I was looking for some suggestions.

We wanted to give our parents a gift from us at our RD.

We thought a gift certificate to a nice dinner for 2 for our parents- FI's live in VT but I thought maybe Raven & the Peach for mine. Thoughts on really nice places in the Monmouth County area?

Also, my Mom has played a major role in the planning of our wedding (basically MOB and Wedding Planner and in some cases MOH). We want to do something special on top of our parents gifts for her. I thought maybe a day at the spa but was looking to see if anyone had some other ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Ali

You can get a Bed & Breakfast gift cert that is good at B&B's all over the country here: http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/GiftCertificates.aspx
That way the recipient can pick where they'd like to go.

We didn't discuss doing anything else yet, not sure if we will though.  We are def. giving parent albums as part of our photographers cost.

We bought each of our parents a digital photo frame we uploaded our e-pics onto it and now we are uploading our wedding pics on. For my mom and my sister who did SO much for/with me I also got them a special bracelet (bought myself the same one) so that all three of us were wearing something special together on the wedding day. Bonus it had a tiny blue stone in it. For my dad I got him nice cufflinks.

That's nice too- I love the idea of B&B's but Fi's parents own a B & B so we've been able to (luckily) trade with others all over the coast so we wanted to do something different.

What about Tiffany's Pearl Earrings in addition for my Mom as a special appreciation for all of her help?

I like the bracelet idea that's really sweet and the cufflinks.

His parents haven't been involved really but we thought it would be rude to gift one set of parents and not both. Which is why we thought something a little extra for mine who have done SO much.

We just got our e pics back too- we used the same photographer as you.

Yea we figured the digital photo frame was a nice gift for all and I gave my parents/sister their gifts the morning of the wedding when we had a quiet moment which was very nice!

He's great! We are starting to work on our album!!

For restaurants... Melting Pot, Nicholas, Raven & The Peach, Buena Sera, The Bistro... there's so many in Red Bank depending on what price range you want.

We got them really nice picture frames and will purchase the wedding prints for them that go inside.  We also are paying for their albums.

I would stick to something tangable......a GC to a restaurant is nice, but something tangable will last forever and serve as a nice memory, rather than just one nice dinner out.

I am paying for my mom to go to the spa with me the day before the wedding.  For 10 years we have talked about going for a spa day together when I get married. I am also doing albums for my parents and getting my father a jersey.
