Where did you get your dress???

Hello NJ Brides!!!

Where did you get your wedding dress? I have literally tried on every single dress at David's Bridal and went to one other boutique in Belmar. I'm from central Jersey but am willing to travel to NY/PA/anywhere really!
Also has anyone heard of a multi-story wedding dress shop in PA, similar to Kleinfelds? One of my coworkers heard of it but didn't know the name. Apparently it has a huge selection.
I have 10 months til my wedding and no dress- I'm afraid if I don't pick one soon, I'll be cutting it close with alterations/ordering time.
Anyone's input is helpful- thank you!

I got mine at Priscilla of Boston in Short Hills

I tried on dresses at Bijou Bridal in Paramus NJ, Jayhee Bridal in Englewood, Keinfeld in NYC, Something Special for Someone Special in Wyckoff NJ and one other place that I can't remember the name of.

RK Bridal in NYC isn't a fancy salon experience its really busy and kinda crazy but has TONS of dresses so that might be a good place to check.

I found mine at Bisou Bridal in Paramus. Danielle helped me-she was wonderful. When you get there, you fill out a card with your info & they ask you what your budget is, so they don't show you something out of your price range. They are appointment only, but when I went, I didn't have one (it was during the week tho and not on a saturday) Good Luck!

I found mine at Roma in Clifton, but hated the store, so ordered it at Park Avenue Bridals in Verona.  Both stores had big selections

Russell's in Linden...they had a pretty big selection.....Are there any particular designers that you like? I tended to lean toward Maggie Sottero and Casablanca, so I looked at boutiques that carried those designers.

I bought mine on thebridalgowns.com website. They are dedsigner knockoffs. I ordered it without rushing it and recieved it in 4 weeks. They made it to my measurements and I needed no alterations except to add the bustle. I paid $215 for a $3,000 dress and you could never tell its a knockoff. the fabric is heavy and good quality and I could not have been happier!

I bought my dress at Pronovias in NYC, they have a huge selection and the prices are a fraction of the cost of Kleinfelds.  The service is impeccable and they at least offer you coffee, tea, water, or champagne.  They really roll out the red carpet for their brides unlike Kleinfelds.

    Good luck!

I found mine at RK Bridal in NYC but ended up ordering it at Jaehee Bridal in Englewood.  They gave me a better deal and I avoided paying the sales tax by buying it in NJ.

I did try on dresses at Pronovias, Kleinfelds and Wedding Atelier in NYC.  The people at Pronovias and Wedding Atelier were great.

Is DB the only place you've gone to? If you're looking for selection like Kleinfelds why not just take a weekend trip up there and see what you can get. I got all of my bridal things from Hollywood Bridal in Kennilworth and had a great experience. It can be hard to find the dress you want because I think everyone amps up the "this is the dress!" feeling. Remember it doesn't happen for everyone - I know it didn't for me. It was finally when I ordered my dress and tried it on for the first time that I realize how much I liked it and actually felt like a bride. So be patient.

RK Bridal, they were very nice and have a huge selection. I got a Maggie dress for $1100, Kleinfields wanted to charge double for the same dress.

What did you think of Jay West? I found my dress there but when it came time to purchase there were some service issues so I purchased elsewhere.

We stopped there after we went to Country Way since it was right down the street. I liked their selection but they didn't have what I was looking for. We didn't get as far with any type of purchase. Sorry to hear you had an issue.

Hollywood Bridal in Kenilworth.  So far they've been great with ordering the dress, coming in to look at veils, etc.  Hasn't come in yet, so I can't say how they are with alterations or anything, but so far very pleased.

The best experience I had was at Pronovias Flagship in NYC- I had my own floor to myself- just awesome!  I picked Pronovias, but from there called Russells in Linden and she told me she could get me the dress for less so I ordered it through Russells who have been great so far.  My worst experience was at Kleinfelds, I was not treated like the girls you see on the couch on the show at all...

ditto to the girls who said Bijou Bridal in Paramus. I bought my dress there and had a wonderful experience. Stephanie was my consultant and she was (and continues to be) amazing! My mom got her dress there too.

I have my first fitting on the 11th and I dont expect there to be any issues.

I found my dress at Hearts for You in Englishtown but ended up ordering it from Patrice Bridal in Hazlet because it was $500 cheaper there. I ordered it at 6 months out and it was in in about 2 1/2 months.

I got mine at Designer Loft West in South Orange. It was the first place I went, the first dress I tried on, and the best experience I had. I didn't buy the dress there right away - I wanted to try a few more places first. I went to DB - what a mistake, I might as well have not had a "consultant" at all. I also went to Bridal Couture of Short Hills, and had a similar experience - I was all but ignored by the single staff member who was in that day, who double booked my appointment with an alteration appointment, and who basically criticized every dress choice I made. Disgusted, I went right back to Designer Loft. The service is wonderful there, they're very helpful, the prices are reasonable, and they're just all-around wonderful.
