Reasonable Venues in Northern NJ

Hi everyone!
I'm hoping to get some feedback regarding a more reasonably priced venue in Northern NJ.  My budget is about $20,000 (but this is to cover some other stuff too, not just the venue) so I'm looking for something that’s about $100pp or less.  We’re probably going to have about 150 people at the wedding.  We’re looking into Fall 2013 and I’m totally open to a Friday night wedding if it means saving a few bucks!

I'm already thinking about the Lake Mohawk Country Club (on the lake) because I heard they were reasonable...but I'm not sure of pricing exactly.  I don't want to start calling these places until I know they are in my price range.  I just don't want to waste anyone’s time.

If anyone can suggest a nice venue that’s around $100pp or less that would be great.  And if you actually happen to have a price sheet that you don't mind emailing me that would be even better!!

Thanks so much!!

  • Hi shanny! I have a price list from Lake Mohawk and they would be in your price range. We booked at Casa Bianca in Oak Ridge. We are certainly trading some of the outdoor aspects we originally wanted, for the AWESOME price we got from them! I have price lists for Black Bear as well that would be a little over your budget after tax/tip. PM your email if you would like me to send them to you or if you have any other questions. Happy planning!

  • I have the pricing sheet for Lake Mohawk if you want to pm me I can email it over to you.  Perona Farms is in that area, Andover,  and in your price range.  I also have their price sheet.

  • I just PM'd both of you.  Thank you soooo much!  If we have to spend a little more we can but I just don't see a need for that if we can find a great place for a reasonable price.  I'm sure there are a lot of options out there but we just don't even know where to start!  lol

  • We're ready to book the lake valhalla club. it's in your price range too. We did a food tasting and the food was great! It's also really pretty/on a lake. My mom looked at Mohawk and thought it looked great! Also, in south jersey- the Shadowbrook (which is where my soon to be sister in law got married) was 100/pp. Great food and pretty place.

  • i'm getting married at David's Country Inn in Hackettstown - it's a really unique venue, one wedding per day and in your price range! They are family owned, so accomodating and its an amazing space - it's sort of like having your own mansion for the day, and you have run of the whole place.

check it out! i also liked lake valhalla but felt the room would be way too small for 150 people.

  • I thought about Lake Valhalla so I will def keep that one in mind.  I do want something a bit more scenic and not so much of a "wedding factor", though there is nothing wrong with that, its just not our taste.  We want the reception site to really reflect our style and personality....afterall, it is OUR wedding lol.  But I will absolutely look into that.  That would be nice and close for family and friends too which is always a bonus.

All these suggestions are great!!!  I'm loving it!  I felt so lost and clueless before, I feel much better now!!    Thank you everyone!

  • The Arlington in Mount Arlington also in that area starts at about $79 pp.  If you want really cheap you can look at the Lake Hopactong Elks Lodge also in Mount Arlington.  Their caterer is very good & if you get the chair covers & sting a few ropes of white lights around the room, the place actually looks nice.   I think the Skylands at Randolph was about $105 pp

  • Does anyone know anything about renting the montclairart museum for a small wedding? Perhaps general pricing, if they cater the food or you have your own caterer etc?

<div>Hi. I toured the Montclair Art Museum. Pricing will depend on whether or not you want the galleries open for your guests, but it is between $3,500 and $5,000. That is just a rental fee and includes access to the space, tables, and chairs (ugly chairs which you will probably not want to use).</div><div>
</div><div>Everything else you will need to rent and cater. Ilana is the coordinator at the museum and she has a list of recommended caterers who can help you with all the rentals as well. It was a nice space, but seemed like a lot of work!</div>
