Pocket Invitations... not DIY

How much are you ladies paying for pocket invitations?  We were quoted $14 an invite for all the enclosure cards, envelopes and addressing, trying to figure out if this is completely out of line.

UPDATE

I would love to order from cards and pockets and assemble and design everything myself.  Unfortunately I am finishing law school in December then immediately studying for both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bar exams that are in February, so with the time crunch I really have to hire someone to print, stuff, address.  So basically I want to know how much all those are paying that are not DIYing their invites.

We're not doing pocket invitations, but if we were we'd probably wind up making them using the components from Cards and Pockets.  In my opinion, $14 for an invitation is absolutely ridiculous and I would never in a million years consider spending even half that amount on an invitation just because it'd be way out of our budget and invitations just aren't that important to me.

We didn't do pocketfold invitations so I can't help you on that, but it is hard to say what is reasonable or not reasonable without having a lot of other info.  Prices of invitations vary based on how many pieces there are, style of printing (letterpress or engraving will cost more than thermography which will cost more than offset/flat printing), type of paper, and other details (for example, things like ribbons, envelope liners, RSVP cards envelopes (rather than postcards) and printed return addresses will add to the price).

So without knowing what you'd get for $14 an invitation, it is hard to say whether $14 is more than average for that type of invitation.  (If you were talking letterpress, for example, it would be a steal if you had even only a few enclosures.)

It is letterpress printing, the paper is from envelopements so I know the pockets cost are $2/each, the pocket would be closed with adhered ribbon and a custom seal, all envelopes are lined and included (RSVP envelopes too) and all addresses (guests and return) are printed.  She is also going to assemble all invitations so they are ready to be mailed when we pick them up.

And everything is letterpressed?  That sounds like a really good deal.

Sounds reasonable if you are doing letterpress. I did printed pockets and mine were about $8.50. I paid them for response card postage and they came completely assembled, the envelopes just needed to be stuffed and postage applied. I went to a calligrapher for addressing, but they do the printed for around $1.50.

I am using elle ette designs and have been super happy with their work.
