Buttercream outside with swirls and dots for the border. Cake topper matched my bouquet.

This is my inspiration cake - Ours is square and 4 tiers, but this is the basic idea.

Cake was low on the priority list for us because we never found a great inspiration, so we went pretty simple.

FI didn't come to the cake testing or have any part in picking the color/shape. I brought my brother and sister with me who picked the cake flavors and the cake picture was the first one my sister said "Oh that's nice" to. My cousins cake looks just like our inspiration pic. Some things just aren't a thrilling decision to make!

not like our cake will help you really, but here is ours

its just buttercream....
i saw the cake topper in weddingstar on a cake that looked very similar to it, but it was white fondant and had grey iciing around the base of the tiers and didn't have the dots....i gave the venue the picture and said we want this.....fondant wasn't covered in our package, which is fine b/c mh does not like fondant....i think it came out fantastic
