Centerpiece Ideas for Oval Tables

What are some good centerpiece ideas for oval tables that won't break the bank?    It's a Saturday night reception in July if that helps at all.

TIA

Perhaps a row of pillar candles or floating candles of varying heights (across the long part of the table) with your choice of flower(s) at the base.  A picture of a pretty floating candle is below.  You could have something like this, maybe 3 or 4 of them in varying heights.

I have an oval table too and have been contemplating different ideas. Definitely DIYing my centerpieces. Was thinking of getting 2 small cube vases per table and putting a stem of hydrangea in each and then separating them with 2 votives next to each other. Might be hard to visualize but I think an oval table will look better if there are a few things creating a "line" in the middle as opposed to one thing in the middle if you know what I'm saying.

I agree with first post. You could do the vases in different heights in a long row with a submerged flower and floating candle at the top. I am doing this but not in a row as my table is round, instead in a cluster. I think the row will make it look nice and people will still be able to talk.  I have 4 vase sizes 12, 10 7 and 5 i think.... only using 3. Here is a pic. Ignore the baking pan underneath.

Are you having all oval tables or just some? We had round tables with 2 ovals and I just used the same CP for all of them. I think something linear looks cool when you have all oval tables, though.

I wanted very simple centerpieces so my florist used 2 about 4 inch cubes with flowers and placed one on one end of the table and the other on the other end with votive candles also on the table.  Here

Kle- that is a similar idea of what I had imagined w/ the 2 smaller cubes and then votives. Very pretty!
