First Dance Songs??

Hi Everyone! We have a final meeting with the dj tomorrow and are clueless about first dance songs....would anybody be willing to share theirs for suggestions? The only one I kinda like is Van Morrison "Someone Like You" but I would still like suggestions!

We're doing a Spanish song that probably wouldn't work for you.  Some others we considered were:

Open Arms - Journey (we're actually using a piano version of this song during our ceremony instead)

We danced to "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin.  Our band played an amazing version and made it really danceable.  If you have a DJ, it may not work.

  "Crazy Love" was our 2nd choice, and we used it for when I walked down the aisle instead.

another suggestion, if you have ever seen Phantom of the Oprea, "All I ask of you" is a beautiful song...

We are still up in the air on this one.  We have so many songs that are special to us, many of which are not quite right for a first dance.  At the moment our front runner is "Lover Lay Down" by DMB.

One of my girlfriends did "Crash" by DMB and the band she had gave them a hard time about it.  She told me that even the day of the wedding, the band was like.."are you SURE you want that as your wedding song."

Its too soon for me and my FI to pick a song but we have throw out some ideas.  He likes "Moondance" by Van Morrison.  I like the song but I told him its a little too fast for my idea of a first dance.  He says he likes it becaus he wants to twirl me around the dance floor.  I love that idea and I love my FI but he isn't much of a dancer.  So I forsee more pulling me around the dance floor and less twirling me around the dance floor.

I used "Someone Like You" for my August wedding. We really liked it and found it really easy to dance to.

Everything by Michael Buble. We had a band and they agreed to slow the tempo down just a bit. Only problem is that we had been practicing beforehand, using Buble's recording, so the day of, were thrown off a bit by the different tempo.

Best part of the song was during the line "I get to kiss you just because I can", my husband dipped me and kissed me.
