Cinderella Bridals

Has anyone bought their dress at Cinderella Bridals in Matawan? I know everyone raves about Hollywood Bridals and Russels, but I was thinking of checking out Cinderella Bridals as well. What has been your experience with them and how much are you paying for your alterations there? TIA!

It was the first salon I tried gowns on at and I had a pretty decent experience. However, the saleswoman lied about the deisnger of the gown I liked to try to make it impossible for me to find it elsewhere. That really turned me off. I think it's hit or miss there but I did enjoy trying on gowns there. I can't comment on their alterations since I didn't purchase there.

My FMIL raved about the place but it could only be from what she's heard since she's never purchased there before. She has placed the order for her MOG gown there b/c of all the 'Fabulous' reviews her friends and neighbors gave her. Honestly I went on her recommendation to try on bridesmaids dresses  with my sis and everytime I asked if they had a certiain dress I was interested in they snubbed me. They Didn't have the dress and tried to turn me off of it. They even went so far as to tell me the designers I was asking about where too expensive and I shouldn't even bother looking for them. (Watters and Watters too expensive?) So I was definitly turned off from my experience but like I mentioned my FMIL insists they have the best repuation.

I got my dress, BM dresses, and MOB dress there.  Everything went smoothly.  They even price matched the BM dresses when I found it somewhere else cheaper.

The designer's name was written on the tag of my dress and the sales lady I had also told me when I asked.

I have never had a warm welcome when I've gone in there. My mom and I went there to look for a MOB dress and they told her that she didn't have enough time and couldn't try anything on (45 min before they were supposed to close??). She did go back with my aunt and said they were rude again, but my aunt ordered her dress there. The next day they called her and told her it was no longer being made but that she could have the sample for the deposit price and they would work out a deal on alterations. The dress was 6 sizes too big on her, but in the end it all worked out.

I believe the alterations lady is the same one that True Love uses and my mom got her dress altered with them (name is escaping me) and had only a few issues, all which were resolved (they never steamed it, but she had time so they did it for her another day). Her dress came out beautifully, as did my aunts which was taken in a lot!

It was okay.  It was the first place I went to.  I showed up 10 minutes early for my appointment, and they ran about 45 minutes late.  They also wouldn't let my dad come back to see my try on dresses because there were "naked girls" in the back.  So every time I tried something on, I had to go to the front of the store.  I didn't like the way the place was set up.

I went there.  I didn't feel the consultant was getting the vision of what I wanted.  The prices were good though.

I bought my first dress at Cinderella (changed my mind after the first fitting and wearing another dress) but I found everyone there professional and very helpful, even when I went back and told them I no longer loved my dress.

Most, if not all,  of the dresses I tried on there were on the inexpensive side, and the charge for alterations (which I never went through with) was $150 to hem and bustle the dress.

I can totally understand them not letting men in the back...personally I was standing in the dressing room wearning nothing but panties, and the curtain was frequently pulled back to bring in new dresses or take them out.  Maybe a different setup would be better, but as it is set up, I can understand their position on this.

I would have no hesitation going back there to buy a dress. I also have a friend who just got married, both she and her mother got their dresses at Cinderella and they were both happy as well, and had no problems there.

Edit: Like many, many dress shops these days, they do not allow you to take photos of the dress (a personal pet peeve) but there were, labels in all the dresses I tried on, as well as tags showing designers and model numbers.

I went there to try on dresses two months ago and was not thrilled with the experience. I had an appointment, but they made me wait while they were chatting at the front counter (there weren't even other customers in the store).

I told them I wanted to try a fit-n-flare or something mainly fitted -- no poof! They said they didn't have fit-n-flare dresses (What?!) but that they had fitted dresses. Their samples were huge and kept telling me what a pain I was because I didn't fit in them.

I liked the top of one dress, but mentioned it was too bad that it was not fitted around the hips. The consultant said "Oh, that was is fitted in that spot, you just can't tell because you are too small." When I went home and looked up the dress, I found that wasn't true. I don't know why she'd lie about that.

They did not allow photos, but I've been to several shops that do allow it. I think they just tell you most shops don't so they don't seem as jerky.

If you are looking in the Matawan area I would check out True Love Bridals on Rt. 79. They were attentive but not pushy, up front about the designers and encouraged taking photos.

I tried on dresses at Cinderella Bridal and wasn't overly thrilled with my salesperson. I told I saw a number of Maggie Sottero dresses that I liked and she only brought out one (you cannot just go through the racks to decide what you'd like to try on). She also didn't really listen to me. When I told her I'd like to try something without beading she told me that's not a bridal gown just an expensive party dress.
