Wedding Planner?

Did anyone use a wedding planner? Did you find it worth the cost? I live in DC but both our families are in NJ, which is where my fiance and I grew up. My mom is going to be helping me with a lot of the planning, but I am still concerned that it will be quite stressful, as I am currently in graduate school and will graduate 4 months before the wedding.

Any thoughts/recommendations are much appreciated!

I highly recommend Sara Kate Events!  Katie was amazing at our wedding and took care of everything.  I heard about her on here from other brides and was so happy that I hired her.  She was so easy to work with and took care of everything (I have a job that keeps me super busy and traveling a lot so I didin't have much time to plan the wedding but I knew what I wanted).  Her website is www.sarakateevents.com

I don't expect to use a wedding planner.  That said, I'm local and I think my wedding is probably simpler than most.

If I lived out of town and/or was planning a truly grand affair, I'd want the help and expertise.

I recommend Laura Savio from Every Last Detail and Cindy Marotta from All About You Events.  They are both FABULOUS.  I initially booked Cindy because she had done my best friend's wedding and I was so impressed by her.  Unfortuntely for me, she is now pregnant and due on my wedding date.

She, and some friends, both recommended that I use Laura as a replacement.  I have to say that Laura has been wonderful.  She even helped my MOH plan my shower and make favors which were ADORABLE.  If you want any information, let me know.  Tell them Jessica recommended them
