Beach Wedding - Reception

Hi Ladies -

My BF is looking for a beach wedding.  Can anyone recommend any beach sites along the Jersey Shore?  She's looking to have anywhere from 200-225 ppl.  The places she's seen thus far are rather small.

Any / all suggestions would be welcome.

Thank you and happy planning!

I second the Ocean Place.....they do the ceremony right on the beach and have large ballrooms to fit over 200 guests.

The Avenue in Long Branch is also beautiful. I'm not sure how big they can go, but I feel like it was over 200 so she might be in luck! Happy hunting!

<div>I think the Avenue was like 200 maybe 225 MAX which means that if you have that many people its cramped.  I looked into the Avenue because it is beautiful and more modern in style but alas they could not hold my party of 300 (?).  </div>

I agree with the Bonnet Island, I was just in Manahawkin this weekend, and the same person who built Bonnet Island build 2 more places all in a row, going onto the island you now have a new one, I forget what it's called, it's cream with a red roof, very pretty, then you have Bonnet Island and then you have the State Room. All are very nice, not sure on the budgets for them, they are all owned by the same person.

I'm getting married at the Ocean Place - but another place to look at is Merri Makers.

The other location on the causeway to LBI is Mallard Island Yacht Club:

This is also probably very different than what you have in mind, but -  for years I would live at my family's house in LBI during the summer months.  One day I was outside in the evening, and there was a parade of people from the beach walking through the streets to Tucker's restaurant in Beach Haven.  The wedding took place on the beach, and then all guests and the wedding party etc. had noisemakers, sparklers, and what not, and the reception was at Tucker's. Tucker's is not formal, but you could rent the entire place just for your reception.  I thought it was a really neat idea and the guests/party all seemed to really be enjoying themselves. I also know that you can hold a wedding on any LBI beach at any time - I'm not even sure if you need a permit or anything (but do check). The only "negative" is that you can't ask any beachgoers who are there to move or leave or anything.

The Boat House in LBI (also Beach Haven) can also be rented out for weddings. It is an indoor/outdoor deck restaurant that is covered and overlooks the bay. These options aren't formal, but are interesting and would go well with a beach themed wedding.
