How Much Is/Was Your Flower Budget?

I am currently in the process of looking and florists (among other vendors) and I am curious what a good flower budget is...I don't have a lot of money to spend...but I do wonder what is average or what pretty much most of you all are willing to spend. Thanks in advance!

This is going to vary a lot based on what types of arrangements and types of flowers people used as well as the time of year and all sorts of things.

We paid less than $1500 for mostly seasonal flowers in the fall for 8 centerpieces, 1 altar piece, 1 MOG bout, 2 Grandmother bouts, 2 grandfather bouts, 2 father bouts, 1 Groom's bout, 3 groomsman bouts, Bride's bouquet, toss bouquet, MOB bouquet (yeah I know, don't ask), 5 bridesmaid bouquets and flowers for the cake.

That depends on a lot of factors? How many centerpieces you need, are you have any other arrangements, how many groomsmen, bridesmaids, grandparents, mothers, fathers, etc. Also on the type of flower you are wanting to use.

I think this will give us a better way of accurately giving you advice!

We generally need the typical 1 bridal...1 groom...1 maid of honor...1 best man...about 6 reception centerpieces...2 fathers...1 mother...1 memory bouquet..and ideally I'd like flowers for the ceremony...probably 2 matching ones for each side. I don't think it's too much. It helps we don't have a huge wedding party.

I am thinking roses...whatever is in season and roses seem to be reasonable. I'm open to whatever though as long as it's pretty.

Roses are in season year round and very affordable!

We allocated just shy of 10% of our total budget to flowers.  We're planning a larger wedding... 5 BMs, 5 GMs, about 16 centerpieces (half tall, half low), minimal ceremony decor, some small arrangements for the cocktail tables... I got EVERYTHING I wanted with no compromises and my floral quote is about $2000.

We are getting my bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, FI boutonniere, 4 groomsmen boutonniere, MOB/MOG corsage, alter arrangement, cake flowers for around $1000. (It's a december wedding and the church and reception venue will be fully decorated so we don't have those expenses).

Mine was in the $2500-2800 range, but my biggest expense was 23 table centerpieces.  I only had two bouquets--mine and MOH; 6 bouts plus a smaller flower for the ring bearer; a pomander for the flower girl; 3 small nosegays for MOB, MOG and sister-in-law; one large floral arrangement for the church and another for the reception. There also were a few smaller arrangements scattered around cocktail tables.  We mixed in candles to help cut the costs, but overall, I was really delighted with the way everything turned out.  Tre Bella in Durham did the flowers and they were extraordinarily nice to work with, so I was very happy they were in my budget.

I don't have pro pix yet, but if you want to get an idea of what they looked like, here's a link to my fb page:  www.facebook.com/barbarajacksonnc" class="url">http://facebook.com/barbarajacksonnc

We used Watered Garden and spent about $1500. We had 2 bridesmaid bouquets, 6 bout, 3 corsages, 3 nosegays, my bouquet, pew markers, 7 cocktail table arrangements and 12 table arrangements. They are really talented & evryone complimented us on our table arrangements.

I live in a small town so my quote might be lower than someone who lives in a big city. I had 1 bridal(hot pink roses/green cymbidium orchids), 1 groom (hot pink rose), 1 maid of honor(roses), 1 best man(hot pink rose), 1 usher(hot pink rose), 2 fathers(hot pink rose), 2 mothers(white orchids), 2 grandmothers(white roses), and 1 for preacher(white rose). Decorations at ceremony...two planter boxes full of spider mums and roses beside arch, four ferns for beginning of aisle. 4 centerpieces, 2 floral arrangements for back of bride and groom chair, and a toss bouquet.

We actually had 28 tables we needed centerpieces on but only did the 4 family tables with floral centerpieces which had orchids in them, the other 24 we did ourselves with candles, vases of different shapes, and colored floral beads and floral lights.

My bill for all of this was $550

I know that seems like not a lot and people would think it probably wasn't the best job because of how small the quote sounds but they did an amazing job!

Just make sure to price around!

Thanks everyone for answering. I was quoted $1900 last night for everything and I feel like that is just surprisingly high for just (roses only btw) 1 bouquet...1 MOH bouquet...1 mother corasage...2 fathers flowers...1 groom flower...1 BM flower...6 pew arrangements...1 memorial arrangement and 6 table arrangements. Hmm...I was shocked by the price. She is well known so maybe that is why. Guess I will keep looking. Life of a bride to be! lol

The type of roses and size of the arrangements, as well as the popularity of your date and the delivery involved (if any) are also factors too.  It's not just species of flowers and number of arrangements.

The 1900, Does sound a Big high for the simpliar side, Ive yet to price flowers in the wedding area. But speaking to wedding planner she told me for Ceremony,Cocktail Area, Reception, An Bridal party, I should be able to easily spend no more the 1500, 2000. An thats with me explaining to her what Id be looking for an its a tad more elebarotate then it sounds your looking for. So Id price check a couple places if I were you. Also if theres a place you like you might try to mention you quoted a lower pice elsewhere, BUT would before to work with them, sometimes they will adjust there price. Ive had a couple of ppl mention they would do that, If im saying id prefer to work with them then the other company. GOOD LUCK.

Girl Sams Club is where we are going.  That place has amazing flowers for dirt cheap.  you can get a set for all the wedding party (depending on size) for around 300.  go to their website.  I'm lookin into if they do custom orders.  I am doing sunflowers and daisies.  they have nothing but good reviews
