Hello Ladies -

Any recommendations for a photojournalistic photographer?  Getting married in Red Bank!

Our photographer is right in RedBank!
His name is Sean Patrick, and so far he has been awesome!
His style is extremely journalistic ~ exactly what we wanted too!

We used John Arcara who is out of Red Bank and amazing. Josh Lynne is also great. However you could share your price range w/ us and it would make it easier for us to recommend someone.

I'm looking for a photographer right now too and I feel like my expectations maybe be out of whack.  I want 1 album, 2 parents albums, and 2 photographers.  I was hoping to spend about $3,500, but all the photographers I spoke/met with are well over $4,000.  Is my budget unrealisitc?

For your price, I got the main photographer all day, and a second shooter for about 4 hours. No albums, but since we didn't want anything fancy I made my own on mpix.com for under $100. We got a CD with over 700 edited images, and an external hard drive with every single photo taken that day, and we own the rights to them.

To be honest, it will be hard to find a "free lance" photojournalist with what you want in this price range. Some of the larger studios say they are photojournalistic but one issue with them is you might not know who will show up at your door day of. 

I will second Sean Patrick, FI and I are about 90% sure we will be using him, but we still have appointments with other people. When I first looked at his site the photoshop scared me, but keep in mind that its in a 30x30 album so its actually really beautiful, just doesn't translate that great online.

I am getting married in Monmouth county as well. The photographer I'm using is Jason Rhee who is based out of Northern Jersey but definitely will travel. He is really reasonable priced, includes a lot for what you pay, and has been nothing but great to work with thus far. GL!

I'll second Jason Rhee. He is also traveling to Monmouth County for me.  I am getting an album, 2 parent albums, and a second photographer (among other things) for less than $3500.

Depends on your area.  We're using Robert Wayne Photography (<a href="http://www.robertwaynephotography.com/">http://www.robertwaynephotography.com</a>).  He's up in Sussex County but travels pretty far.  We're only doing one photographer, but I remember his two photographer packages started at $2200.  Based on what you're looking for and what we're paying for albums, I'm sure he could work within your budget.

I was hoping to spend a total of $5-6k between a photographer and videographer, though I would like to spend only $1000 on that for the videographer....is that even do-able?  I don't want videographer for the entire event...just a bit getting ready, ceremony , cocktail hour and maybe first dance. 

Any thoughts?

we paid around $3k for him, had him for 10 hours, and that also included i brdial album, 2 parent albums, an 11X14 print, and all our pictures on cd with the rights to them....

also, i highly recommend our videographer

he was there for the ceremony, pics in between and the entire reception, so about 8 hours and we paid around $1k for him...and that included 3 copies of the dvd, and the raw footage

Thank you for the suggestions.  we were able to work with the venue reccomended photographer and he is local (about 2 miles from our house) which makes it a lot easier.  Thanks again!
