Reception table...help!

Hello ladies!
So I'm working on how to decorate my reception tables, but I'm starting to feel like I have too many ideas and I don't want the table to end up looking ridiculous...is it weird to ask the venue to do a table for you and my florist to do a centerpiece so that I can see what the table will actually look like?

    Nope- not at all! We are doing a mock up table at our venue with our florist on hand. The florist and venue actually suggested to do a mock-up- I say go for it!

    I had asked my venue about seeing a mock up table and they were totally up to the idea.. they just said they'd need to know when I wanted to come buy to see it, so they could have someone set it up ahead of time with the linens, etc. I am using the centerpieces that my venue provides, so I didn't have the issue of seeing mock up centerpieces from florist, but I would definitely suggest that if it is possible with your florist!

    I didn't end up doing one, but we met with our banquet manager about 6 weeks before the wedding and chose the menu. We could've done it at that time.

    We are doing a mock table next weekend so about 7 weeks out from the wedding. 
    Our florist actually suggested it so we could see the centerpiece and different color linens. 

    Make sure that if you do one you give yourself enough time before the wedding in case you want to change anything.
