Do you think this is to late?

As I mentioned a few days ago FI wants to add bowling into the events for the night of the Rehearsal. I called the bowling alley and was told that they have leagues on Thursday nights and we wouldn't be able to bowl until 9:15 at night.  Do you think that it would be too late to start since we have such a big day tomorrow? I figure we would be done by 11 or so.  Part of me says too late and part of me says stop being so darn uptight. lol

After the rehearsal dinner, I would just want to go home. For the wedding I was in a few weeks ago, I went home and got everything ready (packed bags, steamed dress, etc)  I'm not sure I would love the idea of another event on the night before.  If you know your wedding party and guests would love it though, then go for it!

You also might want to stress "optional" as well - I wouldn't necessarily want to go but might feel pressured.

What time do you need to be up the next day? I'm leaning towards that's too late but I'm always accused of being uptight, lol.

I think it is a great idea but IMO it is too late.  If you finish by 11, you probably won't get home until 11:30ish and then you will probably be up for a little longer while you wind down.

What time do you have to be up by to start getting ready?

I would leave it open to who ever wants to come.  Something like, "after everything we are going bowling for anyone who wants to join".  I was at a bar until 1am the night before my wedding, my family loves to party...haha.  I say go for it, just don't make people feel like they have to go.

I was up till like 3 or 4 am the night before our wedding hanging out and partying in the hotel with our friends and family who were already at the hotel.  So I'm all for having a fun time before.  But it really depends on you and how you function after a late night, etc.

Its not something I would do... I need a good night's sleep to function the next day! But you know yourself, and for the most part should have an idea of how your guests would feel... so do whatever will make your wedding your dream experience!

Our ceremony isnt until 7pm the next day.  I would guess I would  need to start getting myself ready at like 1pm so I can be ready for pictures at 4.  I am totally crazy I know. But FI really wants to do this and I hate to shut him down.  Maybe he will understand.

I think it's too late - I was completely stressed out the day/night before. But I know I'm a little too uptight when it comes to scheduling and I know I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

I don't think 3 hours is enough time for you to be ready unless you have a small bridal party.   I also would not be into bowling the night before, I like to sleep and get things prepared.  I agree with pp and letting it be optional.

it would be too late for me - but since you dont have a really early start the next day it might not be too bad - 11 isn't really that late, but I know me and I will probably have lots to do the night before lol

<div>I was one hour earlier for everything.  My ceremony was a 6 and I started getting ready at noon.  I have to tell you that I was glad that we were out late because it tired me out.  I was so excited that I didn't think I was going to be able to sleep, so going out really helped me get a good nights sleep.  I am with your FI on this one....haha</div>

I enjoyed the night before just relaxing with my mom at her house after the rehearsal. It also gave me time to get everything together- so for me that never would have worked. I would've been a mess. You know yourself better than we do. Another option would be to just have the guys go bowling.

my ceremony was at 3pm and we had 9 ppl getting ready at my house (6 girls, me, 2 moms) The girls arrived at 9am. I went home right after our RD and went to sleep by about 11pm (I DO NOT function well on little sleep) I got a really great night sleep was up at 8:30 the next morning and ready to see my girls. I was greatful to get in bed that night. I had spend SO much of the day running around. I picked up the marriage license, got my dress, dropped things off at the venue, brought over the OOT bags, picked up our rings at the jeweler (e-ring was being cleaned and shined), and finally met the girls for a mani/pedi, then headed to the rehearsal then RD. It was a busy day!

I'd rather just go home after the RD if I were in your wedding.

You can always throw it out there if anyone wants to bowl and go with some people.

I'd probably do it, but that's because I am frequently powered by adrenaline and excitement. I'd want to wear myself out... chances are, I won't sleep much, anyway, so might as well have fun!

I would love to do it, I was so bored till my best friend got to my hotel at like 9 and I was only left alone for like an hr as PP's said leave it up to everyone if they want to, obviously if you feel you need to go home and unwind and sleep then you can call it a night

I personally don't think it's too late.  I think it's just up to you how you want to spend your night.  I personally would rather hang out at my parents house with some of my girls and enjoy a glass of wine.  Like pps have stated you know yourself best and need to judge if it works for you.
